I came across the story of de Gaulle's daughter a couple of years ago and it profoundly moved me. As someone with three daughters, when I read the quote "Now she is like the others." after her death, I knew I would never think of de Gaulle the same way again. A few months ago I came across this article:

When I saw baby Trig's face over his mom's should after her speech; I have to admit, I almost lost it. I immediately thought of Anne de Gaulle and her role in her father's life. I was very happy to see this column mention her this morning.
I'm not one to say things like this, but something in me is saying that we are all truly here (created) for a reason. If this country and world can be moved to truly be a culture of life, I think I may have seen a big step in that direction last Wednesday night.
