Former Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift tonight flatly stated that Obama had called Palin a pig.
"[T]he formation of the Palin Truth Squad couldn't have happened too soon, as we saw when Sen. Obama in Lebanon, Va., this evening uttered what I can only deem to be disgraceful comments comparing our vice presidential nominee Gov. Palin to a pig," Swift said.
"Sen. Obama owes Gov. Palin an apology," she said.
Asked why she was so confident Obama was "comparing" Palin to a pig, she said Palin was the only one of the four candidates on both parties' tickets who wears lipstick.
"She is the only one of the four candidates for president, or the only vice presidential candidate who wears lipstick," Swift said. "I mean, it seemed to me a very gendered comment."
But, Swift added, if "as part of his apology Sen. Obama wants to say, no, he was calling Sen. McCain -- who is a true hero in our country -- a pig, then I suppose we could wait en masse for an apology to that, as well."

It is an allusion that is muted in the text, vivid on the video and unmistakable to the audience there at his venue.
Watch him and it is clear what he meant.
Listen to the words, like the line about the old fish “wrapped in new paper called change” that still stinks.
Like I said on the other post about this:
6 days after 40 million folks watched and heard her lipstick reference and millions more watching and hearing it in the following days in media clips and youtube bites and reading it in print, you can’t honestly tell me obama just out of the blue said a lipstick joke.
How many times in the last two years has the absent senator obama used the term lipstick on the campaign trail?
Look at his body language and the reaction from the crowd when he said it and it is damn clear what for and who this was targeted at.
He has come unglued.

You know, I know Palin is bigger than this and this dumb remark did her no injury. But I have to say, this is blatant. Only a fool, or a tragically thick white male could think it’s not. I heard Huckabee on Fox dismiss it. My husband feels the same. Uh-uh. I don’t THINK so. As a woman (and possibly an overly sensitive one right now with this Palin onslaught), this @sshole needs to pay dearly for this very miscalculated remark. I don’t know what he thought he was going to accomplish by further downgrading himself in this way, but he cannot be allowed to continue in this manner. I’ve had enough already. The freakin’ gloves need to come OFF! I feel with absolute certainty this will be extremely damaging for Zero. I hope McCain puts it all together and crucifies him. McCain’s team is obviously smart. I cannot wait to see it go down. This cannot be allowed to stand.
I cannot believe this creep actually won the Democratic primary. I cannot believe where my country could be headed. I cannot believe it.
Obama is constantly going after Palin and she's just running for VP. And she sure scares the left. Honestly, I don't get it. If he had just stuck to the issues, Obama wouldn't be sinking like a rock.
I think he will offer a liberal apology, but not so soon as Wednesday.

He's panicking at the poll numbers and the direct hits by McCain/Palin. If Obama were President, I honestly believe that he'd come unglued at the wrong time and we, as a country, would be in deep doodoo. He and his campaign shoot from the lip too often.

No, but this was an obvious reference to Palin’s convention speech. The difference between a Pit Bull and a Hockey Mom being: LIPSTICK. Play the 2 clips. You can’t miss the reference.

An awkward moment in Columbia (Biden)
When he got to Chuck Graham, a state senator from Green Meadows, Biden urged the lawmaker to "stand up Chuck, let 'em see ya."
But Graham, who is in a wheelchair, can't stand up - a fact Biden quickly picked up on.
