Hillary will be campaigning for Obama in Florida soon, as she had agreed to do before Palin was put on the GOP ticket.Wrong. Hillary will not be campaigning for Obama, she will be starting her 2012 campaign.

John McCain got a lot of criticism for his pick of Sarah Palin, but it's turning out to be the most brilliant political move in the last 50 years or more.

So who are the Democrats going to send to fight the Palin dragon? Women? Senator Joe Biden, son of Scranton? Perhaps John Kerry can go out there and connect with the blue-collar guys. Wind-surfing anyone?

John McCain beams with pride when introducing her. That is a sight that even devoted conservative women, (me!) never expected to see. Why?
As a man, I never thought there would not be a day that a talented, qualified woman would be in the Presidency or Vice-Presidency. It was just a given.
And I also had as a base assumption that when such a woman appeared, that she would be treated by men, particularly conservative men, with the same energy, acceptance, and pride that men ascribe to each other.
Feminists, apparently even conservative feminists, apparently don't believe their own hype.
Maybe deep down they fear that a woman can't be as good as a man so they project those fears onto men, seeing the rejection of women based upon their sex, even when no such rejection exists.
That's just sad, and that is one of the real causes of the glass ceiling: doubting your own agenda.

Even the subtle difference between the newly hot hockey moms, and the soccer moms of yore has to do with class. Soccer is played in the leafier suburbs, and the moms drive Lexus SUVs. Hockey is grittier (and field hockey doesnt count). Those blue-collar guys and gals in Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania (three states mentioned by Palin in her acceptance speech), were put off Obama during the primaries because of his caricature of their God-and-guns culture, his penchant for arugula (and all that that implies), and his general elitism. And maybe race. Nice line. By the way the hockey mom of the north is very similar to the football mom of the south. Not that great football isn't played up north but you get my drift.
An example is at my son's 2nd grade tackle football practice in suburban Dallas the parents were discussing the banning of noisemakers at the soccer games. One mom spoke up and said "Well this is football and I am bringing my cowbell to the game". This is fairly wealthy suburbia too (Plano Tx.) not the country.

Also, Hill: as a woman who may later want the votes of women, it isnt smart to use your sex to attack another woman. Those non-ideological, I just vote for the candidate I like better female swing voters wont like it. OTOH, she can't afford NOT to attack Palin, because in 2012 or 2016, it will very likely be Palin against Hillary in the presidential election, and Hillary will lose.
The choice of Palin as VP has the Dems check-mated every which way.

She's really much more than either or both. She's demonstrated her competence as a human being. That's what people crave.

Heard last night that Palin didn't care for the swimsuit competition. So while she recognizes the real power women have using sex, she supports some restraint. She can reach Hillary voters. Some of her close friends are pro abortion. They know they disagree, but they still like her.

"Good luck with that. " O's gonna need all the luck he can muster. I visited the Hilry campaign site and even without clicking on any of the forum headlines, it was apparent they really REALLY don't like Obama.
