My heart breaks every time I think about 90% of blacks voting for Obama. Let me be clear. It is because of his race. Period.
My heart breaks when I hear the passion and excitement of Black American’s finally feeling like they will be represented in the highest office in the land.
My heart breaks to know that so many Black American’s for so many years have been used as a voting block and that’s all.
On November 4 the overwhelming Black vote will go to Barack Obama. If he looses my heart will break.
My heart will break for those millions of American’s who happen to be black that were told they aren’t fully an equal citizen until a black man is elected to the White House.
When the tally is taken and if Obama comes up short my fellow Black American’s are not the loser’s. They are the winners.

Black America voted just below the rate Obama is polling for Kerry and Gore so it’s not just because of his race. If the pubs were fielding a black candidate the black vote would shift a bit but not much. Probably about the same level that Lynn Swann got in Pennsylvania and Blackwell did in Ohio when they ran for governor in 06.

But I have to say this: For blacks to vote as a block for Barack Obama is one thing, I can understand when people favor someone they can identify with even if it is literally skin deep, but it’s even worse in my mind when they mindlessly vote for Democrats no matter how crooked, no matter how corrupt, no matter how unqualified, not matter WHAT... AGAINST the party of Lincoln, the 14th amendment, Brown v Board of Ed, against the party that supported 1964 civil rights bill more than Democrats. etc.
Here in Texas, we have 3 great candidates who are black who are on the statewide ballot. Michael Williams for Railroad commissioner and Wallace Jefferson for Supreme Court Justice, and another Supreme Court Justice candidate. All 3 are awesome, all 3 are more-than-qualified incumbents. They have inspiring life stories and good records to run on. All 3 are Republicans.
Why oh why will 90% of blacks vote for the (white, unqualified, nobody) opponents of these candidates? I suppose you can say they wont vote for the candidates color, but we know that isnt true either, the primary results earlier this year showed otherwise. But voting against the more qualified black candidate who is right on the issues?!? The mind boggles.
The real issue is this: Why are they voting the PARTY interests ahead of COUNTRY interests and even ahead of self-interests? How did they get turned into sheep?
This is beyond a heartbreak, this is an active act of election suicide.
