The summers of 06 and 07 here in Alabama, we had several days each summer over 100 degrees. This summer we had ZERO!!! The past two summers we had very little rain and it was hot and dry. This summer we have had plenty of rain and it is pouring outside right now with big thunder storms. For August, we normally get 3.12 inches on average. Here in our area, we had 9.35 for August. So much for hot and dry. It has actually been a mild summer compared to the heat of the past two.

It’s really a little more recent than that: 1913 (when temps were about the same as now) had a month with no sunspots.

Every month between 1913 and now? Spots.

Note that temps rose from 1890 to about 1940, then fell from 1940 to 1975, then rose from 1975 to 1998....

Now they are on the way back down again. Maybe.
