Obama, the former constitutional law professor argued, "what I have also said is this: that when you suspend habeas corpus which says very simply if the government grabs you, then you have the right to at least ask, 'Why was I grabbed?', and say, 'Maybe youve got the wrong person.'
"The reason you have that safeguard," he said, "is because we don't always have the right person. We dont always catch the right person. We may think this is Mohammed the terrorist, it might be Mohammed the cab driver. You may think its Barack the bomb thrower, but it might be Barack the guy running for president."
"You may think its Barack the bomb thrower, but it might be Barack the guy running for president."
This guy is nutso.
I’m beginning to think Obama is a McCain operative.
Where is the evidence he was a professor at all?
“”We may think this is Mohammed the terrorist, it might be Mohammed the cab driver. You may think its Barack the bomb thrower, but it might be Barack the guy running for president.””
By November he will be hospitalized. He is having an identity breakdown. Not only do his stories always reference himself, they undermine him and keep fresh the “smears” in minds.
“Im beginning to think Obama is a McCain operative.”
Karl Rove has lent to McCain the machine that made Jon Carry say stupid things.
Maybe we should report this on Obama’s “Fight the Smears” website?
The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it.
Congress, as part of it's authorization of the War on Terror gave the President the power to do so. Does anyone actually read the Constitution anymore (including the "Constitutional Scholar" running for President)?
I’m waiting for him to unleash a Dean-like scream. That would be the icing on the cake.
“but it might be Barack the gay running for president.”
I made a fix to the statement, since the leftists can do the same and not get called on it.
After all, Larry Sinclair has a story to tell.
He is a fool... So if Barrack the Bomber says he means no harm and he is actually Barrack the nominee.... What no investigation no need to hold him... Just let him free... What is this idiots point. Does he live in an alternate universe or something... How many Barrack the nominees have we detained without cause but in the interest of Public safety? If there was even a handful the ACLU would be all over the media with the complaints.. His position is based on something that is simply not happening.
Maybe in this case Barrack the Nominee may become Barrack the bomb thrower... hmmm we should definately watch this one closely....LOL>...
LOL! There is a movie in that idea.
I’m not a legal professor but from civics I seem to remember Habeas corpus was to insure one did not languish away in a prison under false pretense. Where someone can petition the court to make you appear with proof you should be locked up and awaiting trial.
I also remember Lincoln suspending this in Md. during the civil war.
Wish I could remember who posted the statement I read yesterday. IIRC, it said he was a professor on leave and didn’t teach at all.
Barack doesn’t need to throw any bombs, the media does it for him.
Why when he gives an example of habeas corpus does he use terrorists, and on top of that uses his name in association? He could use many other common situations to make his point.
Contrary to what people seem to believe, many of the protections in the Constitution are qualified. The police can invade your home with a warrant, they can take you life, liberty, or property through due process. They can take you land for public use if they compensate you for it. They can suspend habeas corpus in cases of invasion or rebellion to insure public safety. They can quarter troops in private houses during times of war so long as the manner in which it's done is proscribed by a law.
I misread the headline. I thought it said:
“You may think its Barack the bomb thrower, but it might be Barack the gay running for president.”
