LOS ANGELES - Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, a self-described government reformer, is dabbling in a little politics as usual.
Palin is headlining a GOP fundraiser later this month at the home of a California billionaire where the asking price for a snapshot with her and a seat at the headtable is $50,000.

She is “The One” (for America).
Holy smokes. I’ll bet a picture with Plugs runs about $1.79........
Ha! I’d paid twice that not have my pic made with him!
HA HA...Mikey, the writer, doesn’t understand the “market economy” in politics......
How much were the elite leftists paying for that Obama shindig in Switzerland?
It’s a non-story. That is typical for hot-ticket celbrity candidates. I bet Rudy was pulling in $100k in 2002-3
Just so long as she doesn’t call us bitter clingers, who cares? We all know it takes lots and lots of money to run a presidential campaign. Maybe they would be happy if Palin just sat on a street corner with a tin cup.
“Holy smokes. I’ll bet a picture with Plugs runs about $1.79”
OMG...you had me laughing with that one — the image that flashed into my mind was the drunk Billy Bob Thornton in Bad Santa and the little kids that cried when they had to sit on his lap...I might need therapy...or that was really just that funny.
Weren’t the libs paying over $30,000 each to attend Obama’s shindig at Bon Jovi’s New Jersey mansion just the other day?
If I was well off, I’d gladly pay $50,000 to hang out with Gov. Palin and have my photo taken with her. She’s the shining star of the GOP.
From another thread, on Obama’s appearance at a similar function.
“The article mentioned that the minimum contribution for a guest was $1,000 to get through the door. Supporters who raised $25,000 were given access to a VIP room.
VIP Room feature: Larry Sinclair’s home movies. (just kidding, kinda)
Self described MY ASS!
*Yawn*....the Bon Jovi fundraiser was $30,800.00 PER TICKET.
It’s a great story. Supply and demand.
Comment by Palin’s Event planner: “We’re gonna need a bigger table”
This is a GOP fundraiser, since McCain opted for public financing. The Bon Jovi fundraiser on Friday was FOR Obama at $30,800 a ticket.
These are contributions, NOT taxpayer dollars. Do they expect them to fund their campaign with their loose change?
Not sure, but I’m thinking it was $40,000 a place. But BarryO only gets donations of $25-$50 from ordinary folks, he says.
You'd have to pay me way more that $1.79 to take a picture with Plugs.
Be extremely careful with her safety. Many extremely dangerous monied people in California.
