Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has kicked up a media firestorm since John McCain announced she would be his vice presidential running mate.
In the two weeks since the announcement, Palin, 44, has been attacked for being a bad mom, an inexperienced bimbo and a vapid ex-beauty contestant.
Many people have also been frantically searching the Internet for sexy photos of Sarah Palin, and apparently hit pay dirt when saucy photos of Palin toting a rifle wearing a star-spangled bikini were uncovered. However, those photos--like the rumors that Palin's son Trig is actually her grandson--are fake.
Whether you agree with Palin's politics or not (personally, I don't), attacking her teenage daughter and mothering skills and manufacturing sexist images in order to undermine her credibility is a transparent attack on her gender. Sadly, we as a country just can't move past our prejudices. On the other hand, is this any worse than the New Yorker magazine cover which featured Barack Obama and his wife Michelle as gun-toting Muslim terrorists? Here's a novel idea: Let's just stick to the issues.
In case anyone here at FR is being sent the e-mailed fake photos, or anything else, here is proof it is false.
Oh....and it is false that she tried to ban books in the library of her town too. Michael Medved even discussed the Snopes link to that.
Oh....and that photo being circulated isn't her dressed like a hooker either...

It turns out that the real photo is of Marina Oswald, wife of Lee Harvey Oswald (seen in the background drinking domestic beer), near their backyard pool, two weeks prior to the assassination of JFK.
Hours after the photo’s publication, 30,000 self-described experts began talking of “incontrovertible proof” of Oswald’s innocence.

It looks like a .22 pump rifle to me. If it really was Sarah she might be able to feed one sled dog with it.

YES. Cartoons are never mistaken for being real. This was a deliberate attempt to make people believe it was real. If the Palin photo had been a drawing, it would be crude humor, not character-assassination.

Of course that picture is fake. Were it real then Sarah would have her shooting glasses on and the rifle would be at least a 30.06 and not a BB or pellet rifle. She’d also look a damn sight better in a bikini than whoever that is in the original pic.
