“McCain owes a huge debt of gratitude to the conservative base who got on board with Palin long before the media tick off middle America.”
“This only shows that he owes the base a debt of gratitude and a return on our investment.”
They both expressed gratitude for those who supported them before, and hopefully will after. Senator McCain took a pause in his speech, and asked for all Veterans to hold their hats high, after one veteran had been holding his hat high, and cheering, and gotten the Senator’s attention.
It wasn’t the fact that they both said what would be ‘expected’ at such a function, it was how they said it.
With openness, empathy, and sincerity. With that tone that “I mean it.”
While I believe McCain is 100% sincere in his love and commitment to America, I question his judgment on a few key issues. Especially since neither candidate said a single word about illegal immigration during the convention.
I certainly hope their gratitude shown at the convention carries into the White House. While a President should work for all Americans, putting America first is what I expect.
