Obama’s Former Pastor Turns the Other Cheek
NY Times ^ | September 8, 2008 | By ANDY NEWMAN

NEWARK — Senator Barack Obama’s former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., has kept a relatively low profile since Mr. Obama cut ties with him in April.

But every year for the past two decades, Mr. Wright has led a revival at the Elmwood United Presbyterian Church in New Jersey, and on Sunday he returned, this time with kind words for the man who called him “divisive and destructive.”...

“Twenty years ago,” he told the crowd at Elmwood’s branch here on Clinton Avenue, “a scrawny little kid, pointed nose, big-eared, mama from Kansas, daddy from Kenya — the Lord told him, an ordinary black boy, ‘You can be a state senator and you can bring folk to the bargaining table who not only do not talk to one another, these folk don’t like one another.’...

“He did what the Lord said,” Mr. Wright continued, “an ordinary black boy like Mary was an ordinary little girl. Not only did he become a state senator, this black boy with an African daddy from Kenya and a white American mama from Kansas, he had the audacity to hope, so he ran for the United States Senate.....

In April, after Mr. Wright seemed to step up his derisive public comments about the government, Mr. Obama called a news conference to denounce the man who had presided at his wedding and baptized his daughters, accusing Mr. Wright of “giving comfort to those who prey on hate.” Mr. Wright, 66, had retired from Trinity in February....

...Joy Harris, 44, said that she did not think that the preacher and the presidential candidate were as far apart as they seemed.

“He’s been with Obama all these years,” she said, “and I still believe deep down that they’re still together.”

Hmmm... I wonder how many other people think that same thing.

I know I do.

I have always believed that Barack joined the church only for the political connections and because it’s more of his wife that believes what Wright preaches. I see Barack just like Clinton (but with out the psychopathic tendencies to rape, lie, cheat, steal, and sell out his own country for $$$ gain) by that they will do pair up with whomever will help them get to the next level. Wright was that one preacher that could help get Barack ingrained in the black community even though he really didn’t give a bucket of piss about what Wright said.

I am with you! You just don’t throw away 20 years of friendship, unless the friendship was just for show anyway!

Wright is clearly a member of America’s treasonous Fifth Column. An “organization” as treacherous to America and its freedoms as the Progressive Caucus in our own Congress, to the CPUSA and ACLU.

Remember that — Obama and Wright are cut from the same cloth (with the upbringing of Saul Alinsky) and as anti-American as William Ayers. Birds of a feather....

Meanwhile, the Berg lawsuit moves forward, and not a peep in the media about it. Both Obama and the DNC have been served with papers —— make plenty of popcorn.

Well, without the tendency to rape, maybe...

Obama tossed his church and reverend of twenty years under the bus in a heart beat. Not because he disagreed with the rev but because it was politically expedient.

Obama preaches change and picks Joe Biden as his Veep?

McCain shows change by picking Palin.

How much “campaign money” just got tossed to Rev. Wrong for his sudden, glowing testimony, I wonder?

The Left are agents of the International Communist/Workers Party. Funded by China, Russia and other Commie nations.

Only the dullest, stupidest liberals believe in this “one world” notion. Sure, let’s turn over control of the US to the UN, dominated by Muslim nations and our enemies.

They want to make us pay for the liberal lunacy (global poverty, pollution, etc). Despite the fact that THEY are the worst polluters and rape and plunder their own people.

(now obama is equal to Mary the mother of Jesus Lord help us all!!)
Not only did he become a state senator, this black boy with an African daddy from Kenya and a white American mama from Kansas,
(should read, an African in heat father with a lot of kids around the globe and a white atheist mother who lived in Kansas as a small child and who later became an American hating communist and passed this hate of America on to her son obama.)
he had the audacity to hope, so he ran for the United States Senate.

Obama spent a lot of energy and threw a lot of people under the bus to disavow his past.

In my mind, Obama will forever be associated with the low life words of Jeremiah Wright. Obama said Wright had been his mentor for twenty years, and that he is like family.
I will take Obama at his word.

You've got to be kidding. Other than the rape, Obamaosama has already done all those things, he lies daily, he cheats daily, he has stolen money when he was a community organizer and he definitely is selling out his country for $$. As for believing Wright I think he does, I think he subscribes to the beliefs of all the terrorist(and Wright is a terrorists in his own way)associates he has cultivated over the years.

Turning the other cheek would be releasing a statement saying, “Gee, I can understand why those Republicans were so enraged by my September 11th comments.”

This is Wright playing according to the gameplan HE laid out a long time ago: He stated Hussein Obama would have to disown him to achieve their mutual goals. This is just a sacrifice fly: one guy scoring an out for his teammates benefit.
