Palin's Daughter Is Lucky
Heartford Courant ^ | 9.08.07 | ROBYN BLUMNER

Posted on 09/07/2008 8:28:27 PM PDT by rface

I find so-called "values voters" to be completely inscrutable.

First, their "values" seem to revolve entirely around their opposition to: abortion rights, promiscuity, gay marriage, sex-education and church-state separation. Values including compassion, tolerance, generosity and humanity do not apply.

But then, when these voters are confronted with politically conservative candidates who seem to defy the Christian Right's rigid prescription for moral behavior, they shrug. No biggie.

When I look at the ticket of McCain-Palin, I see a guy who was a playboy, who left his first wife after she stood by him, raising his children, until his release as a POW. I see a VP pick who gave birth a mere eight months after eloping, whose husband has had trouble with the concept of a designated driver, and whose pregnant 17-year-old daughter is unmarried.

But what really burns my begonias is not this explicit hypocrisy. It is that the Christian Right is positively jubilant over the fact that Sarah Palin's daughter intends to keep the baby and get married.......

BWAAAAAAHH HA HA HA HA!

What is so funny...besides the obvious... is that so many of the Feminazi's and related liberals, are absolutely clueless about what being a Christian means to most of "us"

The Left still doesn’t get it.

The immorality of prosmicuity is the lack of personal responsibility and consequence, and the Left’s support of big government to foment it.

Values including compassion, tolerance, generosity and humanity do not apply.

Huh?! Those are the values that define us!

This author is seriously misinformed.

"Hate the sin but love the sinner" what is so hard to understand about that? To love the sinner does NOT mean one has to love, promote, or otherwise celebrate the sin itself. THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE.

It's really very simple, isn't it?

Wonder what the author see when the look at BJ Cliton-a serial philanderer who walks all over his wife with slutty interns.

The Courant is a NYT wannabe. I canceled my subscription back in 2000 because it wasn’t even worth it to line the crate of a dog.

Reminds me that I need to go and dig out their box stuck in my front lawn.

The truly amazing thing is the complete, over the top, frothing at the mouth attitude these liberals have about Gov. Palin.

Very bizarre and disgusting, but in the end, good for McCain/Palin 2008. Shows these people for the loons they are.

I see more hypocrisy in the fact that the feminists are the ones questioning Governor Palin’s ability to be VP and a mother and wife.

The point is Christians forgive quickly. It would not have worked out as well if the young man wasn’t her fiance’.

If Levi Johnston, Bristol's intended, decides to support his new charge rather than complete college, he can expect to lose over $1 million in earnings over his working life. For Bristol, the choice of bypassing college will drop her lifetime income by 40 percent. And about 85 percent of teen mothers who marry between their baby's conception and birth will not return to school within six months.

These people's minds are diseased.

Things that might have prevented this deterioration — such as support for unionism, fair trade policies, a minimum wage that constitutes a living wage and universal health care — have all been anathema to the Republican Party.

Looks like Robyn went to the Paul Krugman school of economics.

whose husband has had trouble with the concept of a designated driver

A 22 yr. old kid ticketed for drunk driving who had trouble with the concept of 'designated driver' 22 yrs. ago because the concept didn't exist at the time! What a dork! I believe the word that would apply to the left at this point is DESPERATE.

McCain was a playboy? When? He left his first wife, but many Vietnam vets had troubled marriages when they got home. Did anyone ever check to see who wanted the divorce in the first place?

The left has lots of room to talk with the likes of Bill Clinton, John Edwards, Franklin Roosevelt, and the Kennedys as their icons.
