Within 10 minutes of this airing wed already gotten four or five e-mails about it; 20 minutes later, a bowdlerized version had already hit YouTube and begun circulating. I despise lefty sites for twisting conservatives words by selectively editing clips, so lets cut this one off at the pass before it gets going. Heres the full exchange with Stephanopoulos, making it perfectly clear that when he says my Muslim faith hes referring to how the people smearing him see him, not how he sees himself. No mas, please.

I'm betting he is an atheist like his mom.
Notice his body language. He looks down and off to the side, avoiding eye contact with George until he regains his composure. This is an indicator of the speaker trying to hide something.
....that is if you can call Black Liberation Theology a version of real Christianity.
Agreed. “My Muslim faith” is clear to anyone who isn’t trying to deny the truth.
I’m betting he’s a Muslim like his dad.
“When I saw the video, it was obvious his comment was being taken out of context and people were hearing only what they wanted to hear. This is not the gotcha weve been waiting for!
“
The list of gotchas is about a mile long, when exactly is the “ONE” gonna be?
I watched it.
He’s a Muslim.
If Obama accepted the correction and then repeated the correction “Christian Faith”, then how can one argue that he was talking about McCain not accusing him of being a Muslim?
IMO, if that is what he meant, nothing needed to be corrected.
Then why did he accept Steph correcting him hmmm???
Here's my theory: He had 57 Islamic states on his mind from some earlier briefing and when he went on to say he had visited 47 states, 57 popped out. It's just odd that he didn't immediately correct himself.
Especially when Obama has been caught red-handed lying more than once.
I like the “oh sh*t” and “this will cost Obama a million votes” posts :-).
Go to the original thread titled “Freudian Slip” and follow post #750. It explains everything pretty well.
“IMO, if that is what he meant, nothing needed to be corrected.”
I think Obama became confused (as he often does) and just mangled that particular response to Steph. I think what really happened is, he mangled it and didn’t say what he was trying to say, then made it even worse with a Freudian slip.
If you listen to the longer video, it’s clear that he’s trying to say that McCain hasn’t claimed that he is a Muslim, but he blows that and says they “haven’t questioned my Muslim faith.”
If he’d said “haven’t questioned my Christian faith” it would have made sense, which is what led to Steph’s. correction. I think was just an amazingly inarticulate answer that contained a Freudian slip, from the brilliant, amazingly articulate one.
I watched the video and recognized that Obama probably misspoke, but it took Stephanopoulos to prompt his correction. On the other hand, if McCain misspoke about something this sensitive, the democrats and media (please excuse the redundancy) would make a large fuss, and make McCain burn up campaign time clearing up the misunderstanding. Republicans have paid dearly for trivial gaffes. This gaffe is more serious than misspelling "potato" or using the word "macaca".
Obama is way more gaffe-prone than was Dan Quayle. This is only one of many. We should make Obama into a joke.
Steffie’s help to cover up his slip was another example of media bias. I’d like to see more coverage of this point in addition to barry’s admission of being a mooslimb.
Yes, Obama accepted that correction. But if you put it back in context and replace "muslim faith" with "Christian faith" it doesn't make any sense.
They lost it at Kos. It’s in the longer thread.
Of course they are comforted seeing us drop and ignore this, so by all means, we should follow the national lead and sweep it under the rug just to make the Obama campaign and moonbats happy.
This isn’t directed at you - just the hand-wringers who are uncomfortable with politics.
It forces Barry to spend time refuting it, and it raises the "Muslim" issue without John McCain having to utter a word.
It also makes the debates MUCH more fun to look forward to!
