The campaign had 15,000 RSVPs, and 10,000 have already gone through Secret Service as the rally gets underway on a gorgeous Rocky Mountain day.

I was there. They had to turn thousands of people away to get the rally started.

Yeah, I was looking for some images of pre-Palin McCain rallies and contrast that with those now. I know when McCain was setting up the VP announcement, they had to advertise for nearly a month to try to give away 10,000 tickets and they still did not get that many. Now 10,000 tickets are gone in a second, and thousands more waiting.

Do we know if they are campaigning anywhere today?

I heard that Palin was going back to Alaska to brush up on foreign policy and spend some time with the family since her son is leaving for Iraq on the 11th.

“I heard that Palin was going back to Alaska to brush up on foreign policy and spend some time with the family since her son is leaving for Iraq on the 11th.”

That’s what I read in a lefty blog yesterday. Is that where you got your information?

Yes, and lets help him get deeper and deeper into trouble...of course a lot of it he does on his own quite beautifully. I bet he hates when he hears the media say that Gov. Palin is the NEW star...lol

We need Colorado. Badly. Get those people to work the phones and pursue moderate voters with centrist arguments.

I was there, too, and the electricity was incredible. No doubt Gov. Palin has made a huge difference, but the affection for John McCain also greatly exceeded anything I’ve seen before. I thought he gave a much better speech than he did at the convention (no surprise there, given his preference for speaking in smaller, less formal venues) and when it was all over, much of the crowd went to the back barriers to see the them all off—this after standing in the sun and baking our brains out for 3 or more hours. The enthusiasm for this ticket is real.

I hope (probably in vain) that the McCain ego allows him to realize that, hey John, all this excitement and enthusiasm is NOT for you. And it sure as heck is not for your hair brained, “maverick” policies that are guaranteed to divide the party once more if revived.

Influential Republicans need to put more and more pressure on McCain to take a real, aggressive position on domestic energy production (including ANWR and off all coastal states) and he needs to forget his amnesty fetish.

And they need to nationalize this election to some extent to aid congressional candidates on major issues.

Sarah Palin is going to shake the Democratic leftist-liberal house to its foundation, and then bring it down...in fact, she's already doing so.

She, her family, their faith, their values, and their story represent the absolute refutation of all the tired old liberal mantras and victimology that they malignantly use to mentally, psychologically, and financially enslave whole classes of people.

From women's rights, to family values, to gun rights, to abortion, to energy policy, to taxation, to envrionmentalism, to fundamental governing principal, to U.S. soveriegnty and independence, and on and on...she is a wrecking ball to the leftist, libneral, socialist house.

Thanks to Jeff Head for compiling this great pictorial collection of Sarah.

I heard she was going moose hunting for a couple of days to lay in a meat supply for the winter.

Check out this panoramic view from the event in Sterling Heights   (Note only Palin speaks on the soundtrack!)

You can zoom in/out and do loops like in those real estate web sites.  When Sarah was introduced it almost blew out our eardrums!

Women SCREAM, men YELL.  She bested McCain on noise level.

I was astounded to see that photo, or one just like it, on the front page of the Sunday New York Times in the supermarket this morning.

In fact there were two photos on the front page: one of Obama at the microphone in what seemed to be an empty tent, photographed from the front with no audience shown; and another of McCain/Palin in the hangar, photographed from behind, with that enormous crowd listening to them.

The Times NEVER does this. I can’t imagine who decided on that front page, or how he got it through the editors.

That is good new to this country boy. Thanks! I think the left really overplayed their hand when they so viciously attacked the Palin family. The attack by Obama’s goons on an infant with Down’s syndrome and a 17 year old teenager was probably one of the most despicable acts ever seen in the history of American politics. Only Obama would have tried to pull this crap. Most American are basically good people. I know they found the “Obama Camp’s” tactics pretty repulsive.

I think Obama, with all his grandiose expectations, had no plan for working at it for the next two months.....just going with the flow. "His people" would do the work. In fact the other day, he complained about the flying around, the hotel food...(despite his world recognition trip)

Then there's John McCain....Riding in a house, probably eating hometown foods..NEVER giving up HOPE, thinking of OUR future...and somehow, and I believe by the grace of God, he found Sarah Palin...and he smiled at the thought....and said "Thank You" for putting her in his path. She's what the people want and need.

How many times in our lives, have we wondered about the challenge of the future, and just at the right time, something happens and it changes your entire life beyond your wildest dreams.

It may be a friend, an associate, someone you met along the way or an incident.

I don't know how many times I've said: "Thanks God" but I'm sure it's not enough.

So again, for your great gift, "Thanks God, for John McCain and Sarah Palin".
