Come on guys. He’s saying McCain has not used the “Obama’s a muslim” attack. It’s not a Freudian slip at all. It’s a quote-unquote thing. What part of "my Muslim faith" didn't you understand. If he meant to say what he said when he was backpedaling, he would have said his "alleged" Muslim faith.

In the full interview he says that he was saying that McCain hasn’t suggested that he was muslim. He explains it quite well, unfortunately.

BUT then we try’s to explain away his statement afterward, he says he was only responding to the fact...THAT HE WAS ATTACKED FOR BEING A MUSLIM and it sounded like he was referring to McCain.
