I thought we were all more rational than this.
They were talking about the “muslim smear.” Obama was admitting that McCain personally did not use it. McCain did not talk about Obama’s muslim faith.
Then Steph. who is not the sharpest tool, and likely wasn’t listening all that closely or following the thread of his own discussion, piped up, “Your Christian faith,” as if Obama needed correction.
(Which he didn’t, and the fact that people like Steph. try to be helpful to ‘rats is beside the point here.)
Then Obama thought, for an instant, that Steph. was correcting him appropriately and he parroted what Steph. said. Then he realized the correction was not appropriate and he corrected, saying that he was just trying to point out that McCain wasn’t saying he was a muslim.
Is Mercury retrograde this week? (That’s sorta like full moon.) The inarticulate candidate meets the uncomprehending interviewer and we are all seizing on a partial clip in order to cry “Gotcha!”
Obama’s no muslim, and he’s no Christian either. He’s a Marxist.
