Ya know, I hope you’re proven right in your hopeful interpretation, but I think I have a right to my own take. As I saw it, he misspoke. Probably meant “John McCain hasn’t attacked me with accusations of my being of the Muslim faith.”
Look, I agree, if it were Palin or JSMc with that kind of gaffe, it’d be all over the news forEVER. Remember the 100 years in Iraq, thing.
Like you, I’d be very surprised if this gets ANY play in the MSM. Only talk radio and conservative blogs. And if they’re honest about it, they’ll allude to the benign interpretations and leave the final judgment to people like you and me. You see it one way. I see it differently. No agenda.
More to the point, I think O is blundering more often because he’s shaken by the sudden reversals beginning with Sarah. The military thing from the same interview is an obamanation. And the continual claim that running a campaign is CEO experience. And referring to Sarah’s experience as a mayor (not even acknowledging she’s a sitting governor). And “the things I’ve learned as president.” Dumb things. But not deal busters by themselves. Taken together, though, including the Muslim faith remark, it’s a sign of a rattled candidate.
