Thanks, but I will soon be deluged with cut-and-paste quotes about how Jefferson was sympathetic to the Shays and Whiskey rebellioneers.

Of course he was, that was his nature.

But he still approved of the plan to use state militias to put down the Whiskey Rebellion if it became violent.
