California 'Central Planning'
If you live in California, you already know that the Inmates have taken over the Asylum.
...If you don't want to end up 'living in a condo by the Railroad Tracks', do yourself a favor and either
phone, or fax a letter to, Governor Schwartzenegger TODAY, urging him to oppose, and NOT sign SB 375.
(...and see below for Arnold's fax number/address.)
- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
- State Capitol
- Sacramento, CA 95814
- Phone: (916) 445-2841, ext. 0 (and tell them you oppose SB 375)
- Fax: (916) 558-3160

You should see all the new complexes in the silicon valley right next to RR tracks. It’s too late in some areas.
But I agree, No on SB375
BumP!

There's a whole pile of crappy legislation waiting on his desk and he's gonna sign most of it including SB483 which will clobber Senior Citizens who don't have the good sense to die or kill themselves if they get senile or chronically sick if they can't qualify for or afford Long-Term Care insurance!!!
I fully agree that SB375 just wipes out all local control in local hands and will destroy what little is left of individual private property rights in CA!!!

Well, actually a condo next to the railroad tracks would be my hubby’s dream-come-true. But then he is a train nut so what does he know? I’ll look into it.

H3ll, a condo by the RR tracks would be a luxury compared to some of the rentals out there. The middle class is being squeezed so hard in California, that unless you're on public assistance in public housing, or you make a whole pile of money, you may end up living in one room in someone else's house.
We've (my sig. other and I) have decided to get the h3ll out ASAP (we're just north of the L.A. area up in the high desert)... within two years, sooner if we can swing it financially.
The last two or three years have been brutal financially. We're thinking of one of the small towns in northern Arizona where we can pay HALF the rent and HALF the utilities.
The landlord here just raised the rent to $1,000. She thinks that because we work at home, we should pay her higher rent than if we commuted somewhere; but she's not in any hurry to repair things. Talk about money-hungry!
If I had the money, I'd get out of Dodge next week. My sig. other can't drive due to low vision, but he finally sees that the "good weather" here is trumped by other things, such as the high cost of living and the political climate, not to mention being overrun by illegals.
I've had it with California. I'm not from here originally. I've read that 40 years or so ago, the cost of living here wasn't all that much higher than in other major cities. However, over the ensuing years, it's gone crazy. There is a mortgage crisis out here (lots of vacant houses), but the rents haven't gone down.
I had left California three times before, but came back because I missed friends. However, this time I'm staying out. Maybe come back for a visit. But I'm sick and tired of being a hamster on a wheel... running ever faster, never catching up financially. Good-bye, People's Republic!

I’d suggest changing the font on that poster, and perhaps the color. The current selection makes it difficult/slow to read, and you want to make it quick & easy.

Hard to believe.
Seadog Bytes is suggesting that conservatives try to influence a lame duck Democrat.
Good luck to you sir.

The bill seeks to have the state exert new influence over local jurisdictions (local matters) to adopt "preferred growth scenarios" (Read STATE-preferred densities, locations) in local building matters by allocation (or non-allocation) of transportation funding.
There is a pretty good summary at:
If that doesn't fill in the blanks well enough, the bill info is at:

Thanks. Sorry you had trouble.
Maybe you’re right. No doubt I’m out of practice, and I strongly suspect that I have not ever done a ‘perfect’ one yet.
However... Did you perhaps try to read the text before the image was fully loaded? That could make a difference.

Thank you, SW. If I had seen your post before the ones asking ‘what’s it all about’, I could have just pinged them to yours.
...Excellent, as always! Thanks!
