It is ludicrous...anyone who’s worked a convention event (I have for 20 years) could confirm this.
Once an event is over, anything left behind that’s not properly boxed and labeled, with shipping arrangements already made and relayed to convention management, is absolutely considered trash and will be treated as such by the union people who clear the floor within a matter of hours after an event closes.
They use to think we were just fools, not smart enough to know the difference...now, they know, we know the difference, still think we are fools, but, they now think we are just fools without the ability to curtail them in any way.

Absolutely, I worked McCormick Place (Chicago) and Rosemont (Ohare Expo) and it doesn't matter if it's a Red Ferrari, if you don't ship it in 36 hours, you'll never see it again.
