John McCain’s presidential campaign appears prepared to chastise Democrats over leaving behind piles of miniature American flags after Barack Obama’s nomination acceptance speech last Thursday in Denver.
Boy Scouts reportedly have arrived with at least two dozen trash bags full of the flags at the site of a McCain rally scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. in Colorado Springs.

The DNC was just going to have them recycled into something useful like, you know, toilet paper. In their twisted, warped minds that would make them the patriotic ones, protecting the environment instead of some empty symbol, donchaknow.

Thanks for a trip down Memory Lane. As a kid in PS11 in NYC back in '48, we had to memorize that poem and then stand up in class and prove it.
I think that poem galvanized the public to save the then-hulk from destruction. I visited her some years back and you couldn't help but feel a surge of pride as well as a sense of history as you walked the decks.
Last week there was a thread on FR about the Dems throwing out American flags. A picture showed clear trash bags with discarded posters, including one with Biden’s name on it, along with American flags.
Maybe someone could find that thread.

Hate to tell you but after 9/11 when every one has flags on their cars after a few month when they would fall or fly off in to the street, there was many a person that stopped and walk out in traffic to collect them. I know I did and I usually was not they only one going for that same flag at the same time.
That ought to be a Pubbie promo - “We say God Bless America - they say God Damn America” and then show pics of the flags in those garbage bags, which fade out, and replaced by one showing people WAVING those same flags.
Disagree. The multimillions who SUPPORT our troops also consider our Flag and flag etiquette a big deal.
All of them need to know OF these outrages, because this kind of treatment of our national icons perfectly frames every Liberal’s true feelings for our symbols of sovereignty.
Just as do Obama’s refusing a flag pin, refusing to put his hand over his heart during the Pledge, his Presidential Seal ripoff....
I never served but would never think of putting our flag in a Hefty bag. McCain is spotlighting the Dems’ lack of patriotism (and, yes, millions of voters have reason to question it). Hats off to McCain.
Here, in Southern Delaware, the American Legion vets, volunteers and the Vo-Tech High School ROTC unit placed 12” by 18” flags on the graves of every veteran in the cemteries around around our town for Memorial Day.
No veteran should be without a flag for his or her grave.
And the graves went back to Civil War veterans.
In one cemetery, there were over 250 flags flying by the end of that day.
I don't think it's about getting votes, it's about respect for the flag. I hope McCain makes a big deal of this.

I have to believe that donating the flags to schools in Denver would have gone over very well. Throwing them in the trash will also go over very well, for McCain.
Pictures were shown the last night of the dem convention of the flags lying in the trash cans. They had to hand the flags out to start with, the dems didn’t bring their own. There is ample evidence that they threw the flags away, there is no way they can lie their way out of it.
I've questioned it since I was old enough to cast my first vote for POTUS in 1980. For the great Ronald Reagan.
One cannot underestimate the skill of a Democrat to lie regarding any issue. Watch these bastards, they will try lie when the truth fits better.
