Exactly...You would think that they would give them out sensing that people would want them, if for no other reason than to indicate “I was there” at such an historical event (like keeping a concert ticket stub—of course, this is still demeaning to the Flag). The fact that these flags were cast-offs, that they thought nothing of bringing them to the next event (can you picture the government waste if these guys get in) is indicative of their lack of stewardship with regard to resources (thus their lack of vision of tomorrow) and of their understanding of the power of symbols.
This is now on Drudge!! It isn’t in red, and no flashing siren, but at least it’s there.
Old Glory isn’t thrown out like drink cups and paper plates (unless it’s at an Obama event).
