I didn't know Dr. Laura was bashing Palin. I like Dr. Laura's advice urging that people take care of their kids. But curiously, much of her ethical code precisely overlaps with her own life decisions. Hmm what a coincidence. For example, when callers ask if they are too old to have kids, she prescribes 42 or there abouts as the "cut off" age -- the age she had her son. Sarah Palin has a husband who is devoted to her and appears happy to share the family responsibilities. If Dr. Laura had needed her husband to assist, it would have been 'OK' to go that route, I suspect. And Dr. Laura's callers are often lambasted if ask about work arrangements -- for example, if the husband is a truck driver, "Is it OK to be away from home for extended periods etc.?" DL's stock advice is that "that's WRONG, you need to get another job." Then - being totally rich - she goes & has a 'money fight' like Montgomery Burns on the Simpsons. She often has fine advice, but must be taken with a grain of salt. After all, while she ends her shows with "Go Do the RIGHT Thing" - let's remember that she's doling out this advice -- AFTER "getting hers": she is a home wrecker, herself. She stole her current husband from another lady; he was MARRIED when she met him. Nice. I say this with the greatest respect for DL, I think she is a wonderful talk show host, overall. The over-the-top fawning treatment she receives (like she's The One) in light of her own rather checkered personal history is a bit nauseating, however. Let's be honest humility & a good working memory of personal decisions are not her strong suits.

I really like Dr. Laura. Her book on marriage is terrific. She is supportive of men and sees the snakey things we women can do, and calls us on them. I like that. I heard only some of her statement on sarah Palin, and gathered that she thought that, with a little baby and younger kids, she belonged at home. Perhaps.

But these are amazing times. This election is one in a million. There is a Marxist running who could put the worst judges on the Supreme Court and do untold damage to this country, and people swoon over him.

It is a binary election. The Republican ticket is not perfect, but it’s a darned sight better than the Marxist Jihadist one. Sarah Palin is not perfect, but she surely handles her imperfections in a responsible, feisty, grown-up way, and I cannot wait until she gets to Washington and cleans house.
