IT AIN'T SO, JOE

If ever there was a crash that tugged at the heart of the entire state, it was the one that took the lives of Joe Biden’s wife and baby daughter and hospitalized his two toddler sons 35 years ago, just weeks after his precocious election to the U.S. Senate.

It was an unbearable turn of events, from one of the most daring political breakthroughs in Delaware political history to unspeakable grief, and there is no reason to make the accident appear worse than it was.

While campaigning in Iowa for the Democratic presidential nomination, however, Biden did.

“Let me tell you a little story,” he was quoted as saying last Friday in the New York Times.

“I got elected when I was 29, and I got elected November the 7th. And on December 18 of that year, my wife and three kids were Christmas shopping for a Christmas tree. A tractor-trailer, a guy who allegedly – and I never pursued it – drank his lunch instead of eating his lunch, broadsided my family and killed my wife instantly, and killed my daughter instantly, and hospitalized my two sons, with what were thought to be at the time permanent, fundamental injuries.”

Except there was no drinking. There was not even speeding. The truck’s brakes checked out, as well. It was not the driver’s fault.

Heard mention of this on the Mark Levin show today. Lies from Biden for political advantage, against a man - now dead - who did nothing but be in the right place at the wrong time. It is totally beyond belief that the police in a small state would not provide an exhaustive report to Biden on an accident that killed half the family of the newly elected US Senator.

Facts don’t matter to people like Biden and Obama. Only winning and power matters.

According to the Iranian News Service, Biden has an impeccable reputation, so I find it surprising he would prevaricate to rack up the pity vote.

Two things. First, how could a single dad of two boys leave them to work long days away just after the boys’ mother and sister were killed? Second, strange how he is now a change agent even though his life in DC started while John McCain was still a POW.

“We can always get another senator, but they can’t get another father,” he said.

And his surrogates have the gall to question Sarah Palin accepting the VP seat??

(but of course they do)

I think it is disgusting for him to trade on this. The same with Edwards losing his son. I felt very deeply sorry for both of them when I first heard their stories but when I saw them throw it out there for votes or favors, I was disgusted.

Is nothing sacred?

The fact of the matter is, some people would just rather lie than tell the truth, even when there’s nothing really in it for them. Stuff like this is just hard to understand. On the other hand, if I was ever going to give someone the benefit of the doubt, it would be in a case like this. Besides, there are so many reasons that I can’t stand Biden that I really don’t have to consider this one.

“one of the most daring political breakthroughs in Delaware political history”

Wow, you mean he was right up there with...a bunch of guys no one outside of Delaware has ever heard of.

But I kid. Delaware was the first state in the Union, and I guess that’s a daring political breakthrough.

It looks like the term “Bidenism” can now be expanded in meaning from “plagiarism” to a secondary meaning of “to slander the dead.”

Liberals sure know what character is and how to assure political candidates don't have it.

"Except there was no drinking. There was not even speeding. The truck’s brakes checked out, as well. It was not the driver’s fault."

Imagine how unbelievably cruel it is for Biden to speak of the driver in the way that he did. Whether it was his fault or not, that driver probably spent the rest of his life grieving for being involved in such an accident. To trash the guy when he did nothing wrong is despicable.

I doubt there is any truth to the "out Christmas tree shopping" part of the story either. Isn't that something the man of the house does either together with his family, or brings one home to an anxiously awaiting family eager to get on with Christmas tree decorating?

Regardless, being a "victim" of something seems to be a favorite tactic used by all Democrat candidates during election time. (Just like Hilary and Chelsea being pinned down by sniper fire on some tarmac)

It's shameful however, to demonize a dead man. His family should take issue with this accusation, and demand Biden correct the record.

An unfortunate accident that I would not wish on anyone. But why add information about the accident that doesn't exist? It is truly sad that Biden has lived a warped and untrue view of what is known about the accident. And to tell that lie 35 years after the fact makes it seem like he's right and everybody else involved with the accident was/is wrong.

How are we to know when Biden is telling the truth?

WHAT!?!? He claims this guy was drunk and killed his family and then Biden just says to hell with it? How stupid does he think people are?

It's not surprising that a rat like Biden would use personal tragedy for selfish political gain. Not only is it unsurprising, it's expected. If I recall, Edwards did the same thing. Rats will do anything in their selfish pursuit of political power and the perks of office. I recommend to all freepers to never forget that. Never underestimate how low the rats will go because for them, there is no bottom of the sewer.

That truck driver has since died and therefore cannot defend himself. That's Biden for ya.
