Ping!
I lived in York for 23 years. Once it was a conservative area, decent, clean, mostly decendents of hard-working, industrious people with solid work-ethics who worked at the same jobs for 20 plus years, paid their taxes, didn’t ask for hand-outs. Then came a lot of liberal social programs and people who relied on those programs flocked to the city. I spoke once with a girl from Baltimore who said the “word” was out that it was easy to get Welfare, etc. in York. She had driven there for that reason and slept in her car with 3 children for days just to get on the public assistance rolls easily. The government went downhill with Democrat control. Drugs and Crime increased. I left. ‘Nuff said.
