“What makes you think they wouldn’t apply this to satellite radio and the internet?”

AM and FM radio are public venues (ie, regulated); frequencies are sold by the gummint. SatRadio is not a public domain. The internet, well, I’m not sure about that, but I think it, like SatRadio, is unregulated.

“Gee where did Deedee Myers and George Snufalufagus wind up?”

I presume you actually meant ‘George Snuffinupyourbutt.’

I think so too. As Bernie Goldberg said in his book “Bias,” the liberal MSM shows that bias not just in how they report news but in what they OMIT and DON’T REPORT.

What makes you think the content of satellite radio will continue to be unregulated? Quite a number in congress are upset about the merger of Sirius and XM. Also there are allocations of spectra for those satellite services.

Rush says that if the Fairness Doctrine came back, he’d go offshore and go to shortwave radio

In that case, I could hear him over my 1937 Delco floor model radio, which can access the short wave band.

Rush has a great name for MSNBC. He calls it “MSDNC” - as in Democratic National Committee. The one and only Rush!

We had the fairness doctrine forever. I was a broadcaster. The programming was vapid. Nothing controversial was aired. I did shows on Wonder Bread school promotions when I was a newsman in 1977. Rush didn't come along until Reagan's FCC abolished the thing.

You will not and cannot get three hours of Rush, Hannity, Savage, Levin and whoever. The stations would be required by law to give equal time, the same amount to the other side. Talk radio goes bye bye. That's the intent.

The only exemption to the Fairness Doctrine occurred in what was then called “a legitimate newscast.” Guess what occurs in those things and what point of view predominates. That was so Cronkite could teach his communist drivel every night with no opposition. And you can bet that exemption will still be there.

This is old news. The Left has already been dismantling talk radio. I posted the Grand Strategy long ago:

1. Sell off the networks that syndicate the shows (ABC Radio, Citadel, Clear Channel) to break up the coordinated airplay

2. Fire the local hosts at the local stations (Melanie Morgan, et. al.)

3. Play the national shows at other than their live times, so that people can't participate real-time. This will further disconnect the people from the shows, so that they won't try to call in and participate themselves.

Well, I’m tired and a little buzzed up (Eastern time zone). Why don’t you explain your contra position rather than just picking at my positions?

Years ago there was a very powerful station just over the Mexican border...but only people in TX got it I guess.

I remember they sold autographed pictures of Jesus...no joke!

This is so serious. Not only because of Rush, Hannity, Levin and every other talk show host in the country...it is just wrong.

Howard stern is okey dokey..but political talk radio is not?

Or does that mean that Stern will have to give half of his programmed to Christian radio? Is satellite exempt?

Barack Hussein Obama Jr says he’s against the Fairness Doctrine. We can trust him right?
