It would have taken quite a star to outshine Sarah Palin at the Republican National Convention. Even John McCain may soon find out why actors hate working with children, cute animals and, now, female Alaskan governors.
But the Hollywood politicos who turned out for the GOP gathering in the Twin Cities quickly became admirers of the vice presidential nominee.
"She's a tremendous choice," said Pat Boone, the convention's ubiquitous celeb. MGM Chairman Harry Sloan, Hollywood's Republican statesman, said that he was impressed by Palin's speech Wednesday night and that he was hearing positive reaction Thursday from his Democratic friends back home. The studio head is hopeful Palin will get a warmer reception than anticipated in the entertainment industry. He wants to hold a fundraiser featuring her in the coming weeks.

“Hollywood Republicans give Sarah Palin big thumbs up”
1. They do? Both of them?
2. Pat Boone! Whoa.
Only to be consistent, I’m going to have to give a big whoopty-do. I could care less what hollywood types think. Their opinions are no more important than you or I.
Is Pat the only one. No he is not. They love her like we do.
Only thing we want is for her to say thank you and now I am gonna do my job for the people.
Ah, come on, I’ve count at least 5.
Pat Boone? God help us. I’m sure he’s a nice man but he hasn’t been “Hollywood” in about 40 years. And what are we going to do when he dies??? We’ll have no one to give these quotes on a regular basis. Although it looks like Voight is trying out for the role.
He said he hopes that more of his colleagues in Hollywood, most of them Democrats, come around to the McCain-Palin ticket.
"I have great respect for people in the entertainment community," he said. "But in terms of politics, they've been influenced by the political forces from the '60s, by Marxists. I understand how they are being programmed. They have to be awakened."
Well, even Voight affirms the "Marxist" side of liberals!
Hey, Pat Boone was in Journey to the Center of the Earth, wasn’t he? That was a movie.
What, did they dig past his coffin?
“(Some people might argue that the Democrats in the entertainment industry have been awakened by the selection of Palin: They’re even more determined in their support of Obama.)”
Why put this in parenthesis? Either put it in the story or con’t, I say.
“or cont, I say.” = or don’t, I say.
Oops, I’ve count= I’ve counted.
He should be in Rock and Roll's Hall of Fame, but probably too many people would laugh at that (like some here, I guess).
I was just going to post about Pat Boone being a WND contributor. :o)
He made a number of movies and was known as a crooner in the 50’s and early 60’s. I love(d) his work.
He’s very much alive and has vital input, imho.
Anybody with over 30 top 20 hits ought to be in the R&R Hall Of Fame .
Both of them?
They forgot to call me....so that is three.
Tiggy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
