Vanity Fair is doing the same thing, and they have a Cindy McCain wardrobe tally sheet to show how supposedly elitist and out of touch she is. Leaving aside the vast wealth and property holdings of the Klintoons, the Kennedys, the Heinz-Kerrys, the Edwardses, the Hollyweirdo crowd, et al. that Graydon Carter and his minions worship, isn’t it kind of stupid for Graydon and the gang to thump Cindy for her jewels and designer shoes and clothes when those same jewelers and designers pay for lots of advertising space in Vanity Fair? If Cindy is out of touch because she is rich and owns lots of nice houses, why doesn’t the same standard apply to John Edwards or John Kerry?
Libbie “logic” at its finest.
Vanity Fair attacking Cindy McCain’s wardrobe cost is flat-out bizarre. The biggest “cost” was the price of her jewelry. You can resell jewelry. It’s an asset. Kind of like houses.
