Wasn’t the Reagan-Carter race a virtual tie in the media polls on election day?
And wasn’t that revealed as a landslide within the first hour?
Are we seeing the same thing here?
Anybody got numbers on that?

My perception was that McCain's speech sucked. Now, I hope I'm wrong and we find that the ticket is leading in the polls. I think on Monday we might have some numbers to digest. If he's still trailing by 5 he's in trouble. Because last night he showed the game plan of appeasing the left and pissing off the base. At least he's being true to himself. If he's up by a few then he knows what he's doing and I'll stop playing armchair political analyst and focus in on the NFL season.
