Aides to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin improperly obtained her former brother-in-law's state police personnel files and cited information from those records to raise complaints about the officer, the head of Alaska's state police union said Thursday.
"It's apparent to us that the governor or someone on her staff had direct access to his personnel file, as well as his workers' comp file, and those are protected," said John Cyr, executive director of the Alaska Public Safety Employees Association.
Palin, now the Republican candidate for vice president, is battling allegations that she sacked her public safety commissioner in July because he refused to fire Trooper Mike Wooten, her sister's ex-husband.
The governor has denied any wrongdoing....

BS gate goes on.
Oh, stop it CNN.
We know YOUR drill.
Face it, the Obomination won’t win.
The Good-Old-Boys network trying to bring down a reformer. She must be really strong to have dealt with these thugs for so long.
Get lost dirtbag.
yawn....
Apparent? umm- from the way it sounds, she knew enough about him to justify firing him with or without the file...
So CNN when are you guys going to give Obama the a-exam? Oh, how can I forget, you guys are too busy kissing his rear.
“Union”
All you need to know. I had more respect for the Police Unions, but that is quickly waning.
Wow..this so reminds me of CNN’s reporting in 1992..their intense digging into all of clinton’s scandals..right?..right?..
Breaking news.....
Palin ate a baby once.
/s
She is awesome and the more they attack her the stronger she looks.
CNN is heartbroken as they watch their boy’s halo start to fade. Sorry losers!
I’m SOOOO sure police nationwide are going to vote Obama. Right?
...AND tasered a kid. Oh, the shame, the shame. (I trust the /sarc tag isn’t necessary...)
“So, were the files in secured, locked cabinets? Is it possible that staffers in the off may have verbally mentioned confidential information to others?”
“Was any information disclosed in any legal discovery actions? Do the words “OJ Trial” have any meaning to you?”
“Private” files certainly didn’t protect Mark Furman’s work comp disability testimony.
Honestly, when is this CNN silliness going to stop?!
CNN must have been beside themselves when it was discovered that Hillary had 900+ FBI files in the WH. Sanctimonious buggers.
Wow. It’s Watergate all over again. I’m on the edge of my seat. /s
Sorry head of the Union would have NO way of knowing what the Aides of the Gov did or did not do. This is pure and total BS. Reporting this rumor as “news” is journalistic malpractice of the worst sort.
The accuser clearly has a political bias (Unions support Obama), clearly is not in a position to know any facts they claim to know and clearly has no way to provide any proof to back up his accusation.
Therefor any competent journalist would not run this story since it is cearly campaign driven disinformation unless they could cooberate it with 2 or 3 other sources. CNN of course did not bother to do any of the basic journalistic tasks merely rushed to publish this fraudlent attack as "news"
Did they stick the files down their pants, too? Because that’d be ok, right, CNN?
