Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin attended five colleges in six years before graduating from the University of Idaho in 1987.
Federal privacy laws prohibit the schools from disclosing her grades, and none of the schools contacted by The Associated Press could say why she transferred. There was no indication any of them were contacted as part of the background investigation of Palin by presidential candidate John McCains campaign.
Our office was not contacted by anyone, said Tania Thompson, spokeswoman for the University of Idaho in Moscow.
Palin, the governor of Alaska, was born in Idaho. Her family moved when she was only a few months old to Alaska, where she was raised.
She began college at Hawaii Pacific University, a private, nonsectarian school in Honolulu. She attended only as a freshman during the fall of 1982, school spokeswoman Crystale Lopez said.
Then known as Sarah Louise Heath, she was in the business administration program as a full-time student, Lopez said.
Were trying to track down someone who knew her, Lopez added.
George W. Bush's transcript was somehow made available to be published in a hit piece in The New Yorker in late 1999, to provide material for the liberals to make fun of his grades. Probably someone at Yale with access to student records leaked them quietly rather than the university doing so openly.
I see they're still sticking to the pathetic "wasn't vetted properly" story line to justify this kind of "reporting". Considering Biden's college experience, maybe it's a good thing to inject this into the campaign.
Why would Hawaii Pacific University spokeswoman Crystale Lopez be interested in tracking down someone who knew Sarah Palin in 1982?
Seems to me the answer to the media's inquiry would be "She attended only as a freshman during the fall of 1982" and that's it.
Unless Crystale Lopez has some other reason for digging up history on the nominee. I wonder what reason that could be?
Apparently the shameless AP hacks are even asking for access to her grades.
North Idaho College is a 2 year community college. Many people go to a junior college to get their grades back up, or up in the first place. (My niece is doing that now, after her high school grades were not good enough to get into the state university) N I C, looks to have a beautiful campus:
So transferring from there to Idaho would not really be unusual. The other school she attended, Matanuska-Susitna College, was at the time also a two year community college, where she went for a single semester. Lots of folks get homesick, especially people whose significant other is far away. Then she returned to U of Idaho, where she finally graduated.
The article says 5 schools, but only mentions 4. I think they counted U of Idaho twice.
My brother in law also attended four colleges, one of them "twice" as well. His majors were "unspecified engineering", "nuclear engineering", "mechanical engineering" and finaly, "general engineering", or something like those. He was for a long time a "consulatant" to a major company, before they decided to no longer employe such outside help. He was the last one to go too. Well he didn't exactly "go", they hired him. He makes way more than I do, even considering the high expense area he works in.
