Over half of U.S. voters (51%) think reporters are trying to hurt Sarah Palin with their news coverage, and 24% say those stories make them more likely to vote for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in November.

Thirty-nine percent (39%) also believe the GOP vice presidential nominee has better experience to be president of the United States than Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

But 49% give Obama the edge on experience, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey taken before Palin's historic speech Wednesday night to the Republican National Convention.

While Republicans and Democrats predictably favor their party's candidate by overwhelming margins, the experience gap among voters unaffiliated with either party is even narrower than the national totals. Forty-two percent (42%) say Obama has better experience to be president, but 37% say Palin does.

Even before last night 37% thought Palin has BETTER experience than Obama. That number has to have gone way up after last night.

But 49% give Obama the edge on experience,
***Against Palin? Obviously this is a totally skewed poll if they’re asking about Obama’s experience for top spot vs. Palin’s experience for #2 spot. This whole election cycle is skewed by the media with these kinds of push polls.

That was after three nights of the media beating Palin up and before her speech. The media mocked Palin's experience and since she is unknown, that is all most people had to go on....until last night.

Although it is not in the cards, I would rather see Saracuda debate 'The One' than Plugs Biden. She would mop the floor with the 'uh uh uh' Messiah. No Messiah would speak the way he does without a speech writer and a prompter. I was immensely proud when both Guliani and Saracuda went right on with their speech when the prompter kept going and they stopped for applause. The One would have started stammering and stuttering.

Poll Questions:

If your car broke down in the middle of remote Alaska on a fozen night, who would you want to drive by and offer a helping hand? Palin or Obama

If your car broke down in the middle of crime laden Chicago on a dark late night, who would you want to drive by and offer a helping hand? Palin or Obama

End of story.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

I disagree. Its a terrific result for our side.

After 5 days of the media constantly bashing Sarah Palin (and the fact that most of the country had never heard of her before a week ago)...and before her speech last night...Obama was leading her by only 10 points on the question of experience. They threw their ABSOLUTE WORST at Sarah Palin...and its 49-39 on experience.

Its even better among unaffiliateds, where its 42-37, merely a 5 point lead.

And all of this before Sarah Palin had really had a chance to introduce herself to the country and to respond to the vicious attacks coming from the media and the rest of the left.

This is a good poll for the McCain campaign. Very good, IMO.
