That’s nothing new. Remember, depending on the circumstances, President Bush is either the dumbest rube in the world, or a shrewd Machiavellian schemer.

The ability to simultaneously accomodate two completely contradictory thoughts and hold each as correct is one of the hallmarks of liberalism.

In a broader perspective, it is part of the same dynamic which will allow people to criticise the government's effectiveness regarding Katrina response, the post office, education, VA, DMV, immigration, FDA, etc., then say, "let's let the government handle healthcare."
