Last Day Folks! Thanks for letting me do the threads.
Last night was GREAT! You can tell by the amount of slime that is being thrown us. Break out the poopcorn, it's going to be another late night!
Chillout, lady.
Very noble, now that your folks have already trashed them.
Why didn’t they have arnold up ther?
Forget that part, how does she explain what followed and comments on it’s bullshit and on narratives, and she was the best choice or most qualified?
Plagiarism, the internet has been probably been sanitized to make Biden look good;
Sarah Palin: The Right Choice

In 1988 plagiarism and exaggeration of his credentials were admitted by Biden and he had to forgo his attempt to get the Democrat presidential nomination then. In 1988 plagiarism and exaggeration of his credentials were admitted by Biden and he had to forgo his attempt to get the Democrat presidential nomination then. Only a few present day articles mention this but spurious charges against Palin make headlines. The governor is called to task for seeking the firing a public safety commissioner because he wouldnt fire her former brother-in-law but there is almost no mention that the brother-in-law was in trouble for threatening to kill people.
Negative terms were used far more frequently to describe Palin than Biden. For example, Biden was forced to exit the 1988 presidential race because he was involved in plagiarism and exaggerated his college record, but few articles mentioned those issues only 3 and 1 percent respectively.
I was responding to a poster that said energy and WOT were the main factors —The SCOTUS is just as important —The poster did not mention that
And the statement that McCain better use implies his TV ads etc should place a lot of emphasis on it
Too many so called independents/swing voters ( actually anybody in this category is basically clueless )are probably unaware of the significance of this issue or forget about it though they know about gas prices and WOT

Here's the account by a Citzens for Reagan worker:
The evening's television programming was interrupted for a Special Report: Ronald Reagan, in record-breaking Primary turn-out, had won a smashing victory. Just as important, the victory meant 100 convention Delegates! We were moving closer to the Convention in Kansas City. We had an additional 100 delegates committed to Reagan.
We joined in the chorus of "Viva Ole!" And we all, at Citizens for Reagan, had a favorite state: Texas.
This is, incidentally, a wonderful site of Regan memories.
“Youre new to this, I see.”
Actually, no, I’m not. My first presidential election when I was old enough to vote was Ford/Carter, and as for only posting out here for a few months, I’ve been reading this website since 1992 elections.
“Pres candidate remains above the fray to peal away the Independents and look Presidential.”
That wouldn’t bother me so much except for the fact that we’ve already EXPERIENCED his type of ‘reaching’. In this particular case it’s simple: “His actions are speaking so loud I can’t hear what he’s saying.” I also remember a time when Presidential candidates didn’t do this. I think Bush #1 was the one who came up with this strategy. I don’t care for it and I don’t like it.
"Let me address one other issue important to all of us. As you know, I and many other colleagues twice attempted to pass comprehensive immigration legislation to fix our broken borders; ensure respect for the laws of this country; recognize the important economic contribution of immigrant laborers; apprehend those who came here illegally to commit crimes; and deal practically and humanely with those who came here, as my distant ancestors did, to build a better, safer life for their families, without excusing the fact they came here illegally or granting them privileges before those who have been waiting their turn outside the country. Many Americans did not believe us when we said we would secure our borders, and so we failed in our efforts. I don't want to fail again to achieve comprehensive immigration reform. We must prove we have the resources to secure our borders and use them, while respecting the dignity and rights of citizens and legal residents of the United States. When we have achieved our border security goal, we must enact and implement the other parts of practical, fair and necessary immigration policy. We have economic and humanitarian responsibilities as well, and they require no less dedication from us in meeting them.
"Several years ago, the leading newspaper in my state published an article putting faces on the tragic human costs of illegal immigration, and I would like to briefly quote from it:
"Maria Hernandez Perez was No. 93. She was almost 2. She had thick brown hair and eyes the color of chocolate.
"Kelia Velazquez-Gonzales, 16, carried a Bible in her backpack. She was No. 109
"John Doe, No. 143, died with a rosary encircling his neck. His eyes were wide open."
We can't let immigrants break our laws with impunity. We can't leave our borders undefended. But these people are God's children, who wanted simply to be Americans, and we cannot forget the humanity God commands of us as we seek a remedy to this problem."
I suggest you read the entire pandering speech, learn more about La Raza [The Race] and its objectives, and recognize that CIR is code for amnesty.
John McCain, Multiculturalist Immigration is just one problem McCain is against making English the official language of this country--something 85% of the American people favor.
I was getting ready to hold my nose and vote for McCain, mainly due to the Palin selection. However, McCain's speech tonight, a condemnation of his own party, has convinced me otherwise. For the first time in over 40 years, I will be leaving the office of President blank. I will continue to vote a straight Rep ticket as always.
If John McCain, the self-described maverick, can vote on the basis of principle and conscience over party, why can't I? My fear is that McCain will depress the conservative vote and hurt other Reps down ballot. And if he wins, you can rest assured that the conservative influence in the party will be further marginalized.
I didn’t see the whole thing, just the part where he kept acting condescending with her. I still will not watch BOR because of his interview with BO.
Did illegal immigration come up in this Convention? Do people realize that if we vigorously enforced all are immigration laws we would not have had 9//11, our taxes would be lower, we would not have Mexican citizens voting in our elections, our streets would be safer, and on and on.
Not enforcing the laws we have on the books today is the biggest failing of this Country and until the laws are enforced we are in a world of hurt.
Border security is insufficient. People can come into the County legally then stay indefinitely. We need to enforce ALL the laws.
Absolutely agree. The truth is that there is no way one can be "conservative" and pro-abortion. On the subject of "conserving" life, one would have to come down where Ronald Reagan came down...you err on the side of life.
I’m a strong supporter of Palin, and I’m on board for McCain. He sold me last night on his sincerity.
Here’s why the convention did not overplay McCain’s story.
I’d never heard it before. I don’t think I’m alone.
Many had heard it only peripherally mentioned, had heard that he was a POW. But, I had never heard the details.
That should read “Rush loved the speech...” (we know you did, Rose) ;)
My elderly in-laws who WILL vote but aren’t particularly interested in watching TV had no idea whatsoever about McCain’s Hanoi Hilton experience. They watched two nights of the convention with us and learned many things about the 2008 Republican ticket.
Your insult about them says everything I need to know about you.
Yes, good points.
“Martinez is doing a good job of highlighting the threats that face America.”
Self-flagellation? He is one on the threats facing America!!!
