Can someone answer this for me: if McCain is elected, and as things now stand, we lose several senate seats and end up at 57 Dems plus socialist Sanders plus “I” Lieberman, what happens to McCain’s AZ seat? Does JaNo get to appoint a Dem?

LS, just like in Wyoming when Senator Thomas died, the Governor has to appoint the party of the Senator giving up the Seat.

The AZ DEM Governor will get a list of finalists from the AZ GOP to consider. She must select one of them.

Thankfully the AZ GOP holds the state House and Senate, or this law would have been dumped by the AZ Dems.
