The scene was stunning. What appeared to be handwritten signs bearing the phrase Palin Power multiplied throughout the Xcel Energy Center as the moment of the acceptance speech finally arrived.
First came the warm ups from Senator McCains former rivals, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuiliani. Then Palin Power became the appropriate slogan for the evening as Governor Sarah Palin lit up the house with her confidence, moved hearts with the warm appeal of her very real and photogenic family and roused the ground troops of the revived Republican Party with a well delivered, substantive and electrifying speech.
This was Sarahs night and the delegates to this convention let it be known with continual applause from the beginning, throughout the delivery and at the end. The speech was personal, punchy, populist and patriotic. It was delivered by Governor Palin with a confident demeanor which confirms that she is a candidate who can and will hold her own in any debate. It was also a joy to listen to, indicating that she will make a significant contribution in the communications department of the Republican ticket this year.
She began: Mr. Chairman, delegates, and fellow citizens: I am honored to be considered for the nomination for Vice President of the United States... I accept the call to help our nominee for president to serve and defend America. I accept the challenge of a tough fight in this election... against confident opponents ... at a crucial hour for our country. And I accept the privilege of serving with a man who has come through much harder missions ... and met far graver challenges ... and knows how tough fights are won - the next president of the United States, John S. McCain.

When Hussein gave “the greatest speech ever” the other night how many times did you hear someone say “well he didn’t write it someone helped him”? I heard that twice last night after Palin gave her speech.
Sarah knocked it out of the park and all over the country last night....she was fantastic!!
“When Hussein gave the greatest speech ever the other night how many times did you hear someone say well he didnt write it someone helped him? I heard that twice last night after Palin gave her speech.”
And now it may be that her teleprompter may have been broken for half of it, meaning she had to improvise a bit. Love to have seen Odummy handle that.

I still remember what she said.
In fact - many of her points are stuck in my head.
Does anyone remember what Obama says the morning after?
It’s like eating chinese food with him.
I heard the same crap. Before the night began they said she drafted the speech herself. There did have some political speech writers who went over it who made suggestions, but she insisted the speech be hears. The Real Deal, and she's the Real Deal.
Hence, the reference to "zero," whenever his name came up at the RNC!!
I love it...it's perfect!
"Me, me, me, me, I, I, I, me, I, I, I, ..."
LOL!
very true.
And I DO remember he had the gall to take credit for the victory in Iraq.
The AUDACITY!
I stewed over that for awhile.
Wow! You would of never known. She kept her confidence and composure throughout.
I think it was one of the first comments out of Mort Kondrache's mouth as he was eager to name the speechwriter who wrote Sarah's speech. You can have the greatest speech ever written and if the speaker can't deliver it, it becomes just a pile of words. Sarah took the words and DELIVERED!
Governor Palin is exactly what Senator McCain’s campaign needed and what I’ve been waiting for. Democrats have become used to forcing Republicans into a defensive posture, but Palin has changed that forever: she will go directly at the Democrats in their most vulnerable areas. Thank God we finally have a real conservative who has the will to fight!
