I watched the second video in your post to see what he said. Youtube is the greatest, and probably spared us from a Giuliani nomination.

It’s just bluster for the base, and is vague enough to two step, and nobody will care. I can’t see it happening.

But ok, I won’t dismiss it. Let me question instead. What would be the point of impeachment of Bush in October? There’s a process, as we saw with Clinton. The House has to have a big argument (and is anyone going to miss that one?) Then they have to vote to send the whole mess to the Senate. Then some of them have to try the whole thing before the Senate. What whole thing? What high crimes and misdemeanors are they going to bring up which will get the support of 66 Senators?

I think it would be a huge distraction when nobody wants one, and would probably backfire politically. Furthermore, even if it didn’t backfire, and they somehow got 2/3 of the Senate to agree in October to throw out Bush, President Cheney would finish out the term. There’s no way the Senate is going to toss them both out and bring in President Pelosi. So what do they really have to gain? The only upside would be stirring up the base with hatred of Bush. They’ve just about stirred that pot already, I’d say... ;)

You're missing the point again.

Here is a scenario:

All the Democrats have to do is have the House Judiciary Committee introduce charges that may include Articles of Impeachment.

In fact, all they have to do is debate these fictitious "charges" on C-SPAN circa October 31st 2008. The MSM will give it headlines and hours, and hours, and hours of talking head play and debate.

Of course they won't follow through with it as the Republicans did against Clinton. The Republican House Managers had hard evidence.

This is about posturing before the elections and a possible "October Surprise."

The Daily Kos and Move On.org types run the Democrat Party these days. There are no adults in charge over there.
