She had the same obvious love of country as Reagan, the same ability to be cutting and funny at the same time, the same natural speaking talent.
Yet while Reagan had a larger-than-life quality, Palin was like someone you know from your neighborhood who can take on powerful interests and then you'll see her at the local bar and grille on Saturday night.
She's a regular-folks version of Reagan. (And I'm not dissing Reagan in any way, merely making a distinction.) She's an original.

I don't think she's The Gipper... no one could replace him. But she has that same ability to relate to the American people and make them feel good about themselves and the country the way Reagan did. No politician I could think of was like Reagan until Sarah. He was a tough act to follow and deservedly so. But she's fit to stand in his company!

I would say she is right smack between conservative Reagan and conservative/populist George Wallace, (without Wallace’s racist past), who were two geniuses at reaching the people, the common man, the little guy as they would like to say. Both of these men went on to pile up enormous popular vote and have quite an impact on the American political scene...and she will no doubt, too.
