Former Duke lacrosse prosecutor Mike Nifong wants permission to auction off three of his collector guitars.
Court documents filed Wednesday list him as wanting to sell a Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster, a Martin D-41 and a PRS Custom 24.
According to bankruptcy proceedings in February, two of the instruments are worth about $5,000.
If the motion to auction the guitars is approved, the auction will take place Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. at 361 Ja-Max Road in Hillsborough.
Nifong filed for bankruptcy in January, listing a debt of $180.3 million. Almost all of that is estimated damages from pending civil litigation that stems from the 2006 case in which he had three Duke University lacrosse players indicted on false accusations of rape.
Nifong listed David Evans, Finnerty and Reade Seligmann, as well as three other members of Duke University's 2006 men's lacrosse team who filed a separate federal lawsuit, as unsecured creditors and said each is owed $30 million.

Someone who would prosecute people he knows are innocent solely for political gain is about as bad as it is possible to get. I would much prefer the companionship of an armed robber than him.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! He may want to keep one of those guitars to play for nickels on the street corner.
Unrelated - has his wife dumped him yet? And where is the Durham black community to stand by the man who was such a champion for their “cause”?

Mikey deserves it. Never seen a bigger POS in my life. And now I hear that ugly bitch Crystal Mangum (yeah, I said you’re ugly- you’re ugly as hell) is writing a book about the ordeal and it’s going to press. How is she allowed to profit off this crap? She helped Nifong frame those boys.

That won’t be enough to pay for the misery he brought to the innocent Duke LaX members he and the libs tried to destroy.
No, rather, he should walk himself to a lovely idyll and place the business end of the piece to create the quickest cessation of his brain activity and stoppage of his heart.

If you really want to bid on a guitar, the Steve Miller Band has signed and donated a guitar to be auctioned for the benefit of
Starshine Academy, an innovative and highly successful charter school for at-risk kids in Phoenix (and soon around the world).
Here's the link.
Steve McCarty, author of "Fly Like An Eagle" and "Wild Mountain Honey", is also doing an online benefit performance for Starshine Academy. Details here.

Nifong just needs to hang on a few months, if perchance the Obama-Biden ticket prevails, he’ll probably receive a presidential pardon AND an appointment as a U.S. prosecutor.

One would think that once the lawsuits are settled, they would seize his property and put it up for auction anyway. His wife of course deserves representation to keep her half.

That Nashville Tele would be a nice addition to any collection.
I say we start the bidding at $1.00

All I know is that in my experience Nifong is pretty much a typical prosecutor. Most of them it seems play the same games. He just had the misfortune of having a case where he was being a jerk turn into a media circus where public sentiment was strongly against him. Now he is ruined, but there are plenty more out there playing dirty and trying to win at all costs, truth and justice be damned.

It was a cold-blooded Frame. It wasn’t a mistake or an uh-oh or an oh, hell. They knew what they were doing and it was intentional.
