AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, Maha-Rushie! America's Anchorman, Truth Detector, Doctor of Democracy, and Chief of the Patriotism Police. He is the man who runs America. He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. The way Palin is being treated

It's fascinating to me that it's the Democrats, and especially Democrat women are attacking John McCain's choice of Gov. Sarah Palin. Their criticisms boil down to three tangential categories
1. Criticizing her choice to have a down syndrome baby 2. Casting dispersions on her because her 17-year old daughter is pregnant and will keep the baby and marry the father 3. Objecting to her being a mother and Governor or VP
What happened to women's liberation? What happened to choice (that usually means A or B, not just A)? What happened to equality?
It seems that the Republican Party is more accepting of mothers who work and of not-so-perfect family situations. The Democrats seem to be stuck in a 1950's time-warp where mothers must necessarily stay home (perhaps to live off welfare checks?), all children must be perfect (or hidden from society), and unplanned pregnancies must be quickly and quietly terminated.
Women across America should be applauding John McCain's choice of Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, not trying to destroy her by holding her up to an impossible standard. Indeed, Gov. Palin is a wonderful example to our children that life isn't perfect, but you do the best that you can with the cards you're dealt.
Character is what you do with those cards, not avoiding them or throwing them away. Gov. Palin certainly has the character to face tough decisions head-on, and not avoid them or pass them off to a higher pay grade.
The real reason that women of the left and their media pals are attacking Gov. Palin is that they feel threatened in their own decisions. Her daughter's choice to keep an unplanned preganancy as well as her choice to birth a Down syndrome child are viewed as an implicit attack on abortion-on-demand. It erodes their pro-abortion mantra.
Moreover, it is Gov. Palin's strength of character and ability to work and raise her children that are the real threats. This line of attack reveals the deep, dark secret of liberal women -- that they prefer dependence on men to making it in the workplace, and they cling to outdated gender roles in the comfort of their suburban lifestyles. No wonder Gov. Sarah Palin is so threatening to them -- she exemplifies everything that they are not.
Democrats will work hard to spin a web of fear in order to keep the support of women for their party, obscuring the fact that a Democrat-controlled Senate will determine the next Supreme Court justices, not a Vice President, to whom the Constitution give no powers of appointment, cabinet or policy formation. In creating the veil of fear around the Supreme Court, Democrats demonstrate their contempt for a woman's ability to discern fact from fiction -- just as they demonstrate contempt for Gov. Sarah Palin's service to our country while being a mother.
The irony is that in places like New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio (where I've traveled lately), the choice of Gov. Palin as John McCain's running mate has energized a group of inconsistent voters -- women whose husbands are politically active but who claim to not pay attention to politics. One woman told me that she was so excited by the pick that she called her husband, who was shocked that she had even paid attention.
However, the real impact of Gov. Palin's candidacy was best summed up by my five-year-old daughter, who turned to me upon hearing of the pick, and said "Wow, Mommy, this means that you could be President, and so can I."
Great job, John McCain and Sarah Palin, in inspiring our next generation of women and allowing them limitless dreams.
Gingrich was also very explosive with MSNBC, see video at link;

Fred was AWESOME last night!
Fred is almost always “awesome.” Unfortunately, the MSM feared him the most of all the Republican candidates and he was dissed, smeared and ridiculed more than all the other Pubbie candidates combined.
Even some FReepers fell for the MSM bias against Fred, which included Fox News.
Fred Thompson would be a great president.
Conservative Warpath Woman reporting in. Has anyone else seen the posts about the Daily Kos. I guess its getting pretty vile with little care about destroying the life of a 17 year old. I read on another site that one Kos poster stated that he didn’t care if Bristol Palin’s life was ruined because the poster felt that Universal Health Care was too important an issue to let one life stand in the way. (I’m paraphrasing of course.) Sadly this is all believable.
