A Vote for Sarah Palin

I don’t mind debate on FR but sniping comments of the likes of steve-b just show the lack of depth of thought of the Obama rank and file.

I believe you'd have to prove criminal intent. People borrow money from family for all kinds of reasons --- education, medical expenses, adoptions, you name it --- and if some agency notes the money in the account, interprets it as "hm, they're prosperous" and doesn't inquire further, I don't think anyone is obliged to take the initiative and volunteer the information, "That's $25,000 we got from my brother, you know."

This is no more criminal than flashing a ring that looks like it might be a real diamond, but isn't, or wearing a coat that looks like it might be a real fur, but isn't. No untruths told, no falsified documents, no perjury, no-one defrauded of money or property = no fraud. If I'm on the jury, that's my verdict: Not Guilty.
