Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.

As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden’s.

She’s also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s counterterrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country’s defense. Given Alaska’s proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don’t even know about.

Additionally, she regularly negotiates with Russia over fishing rights in the Bering Sea.

Ohhhhhhhh, I almost forgot that Obama was a community organizer and editor of Harvard Law Review (although he never wrote anything). Yeah, his experience level rocks all over Palin’s... not.

Very good points, I hope the McCain advisors that go for interviews could rattle all these points off like you just did.

Interesting points. Wonder why I haven’t seen them in the MSM.

What a gem you are.

You have summed up, in a few short paragraphs, why Sarah Palin IS qualified to be VP and commander in chief, if God forbid, it ever came to that.

First, she governs a state with many of the same agencies as the federal government but obviously on a smaller scale.

Her briefings as Governor of Alaska, the nearest of our states to Russia, especially with the shaky condition of the way things are going IN Russia right now, must be intense.

Besides, before ANY of us knew anything, we were taught.

As an elected official in the White House, she would have a wealth of advisors, experienced military men and experts in many fields to guide her in all phases of learning the job of Vice President. What she doesn’t know at first she will learn. Her good common sense, character and past experience as a governing official will also help her.

And, just speaking of people in general,I have found if you are respectful, kind, but are a no-nonsense type who shows that you cannot be bullied, most people respect you and sometimes even will go out of their way to help you.

She will be admired AND respected, I just have a feeling.
