Palin goes on offense in Troopergate, releases affidavit

Everyone knew it was coming but I thought they’d wait longer to do it. Presumably they decided to take advantage of the raging river of information and push it out now rather than wait until things quiet down, when the media can focus all of its attention on it. Here’s the PDF. The recitation of facts is only around 10 pages; pay special attention to the short section on the Bailey phone call, which is where she’s most likely to have problems. This is, ostensibly, a legal document written for ethics investigators, but the true aim of course is to put the public on notice about her former brother-in-law’s “eccentricities” so that if she’s found guilty of crossing an ethical line she can claim she acted the way any good daughter or sister would when family’s threatened. The defense, in other words, will be that she’s morally right even if she’s ethically wrong.

90% of this "Get Palin" is only to divert everyone's attention from the fact that Palin is more qualified that obamamamama or token joe.

The O'Biden camp can't stand the scrutiny that the comparison will generate, so their friends in the media are trying a little diversion and crossfire to keep their idiot from looking like an idiot.

The Left is PLENTY worried about Palin pooping in their Post Toasties...and they're loading all the barrels to aim at her.

No doubt McCain will play rope-a-dope with them just like the VP announcment negated the entire Democrat Convention. It's like the dem convention never even happened. Oh, the lefty news wonks are still fawning of obmamamam's "speech", but they didn't even need to set their TIVOs...just check every dem nominee speech all the way back to Jimmuh Catta and you'll have the idea of what was said...a laundry list of lib talking points.

As for the pregnant daughter...millions of women in this land end up with pregnant daughters, but they can't quit their job because of it; and if they don't quit their jobs it doesn't mean they don't care about their daughters...it just means their daughter will be needing even more care, and care cost money.

The best way for Palin to show her daughter - and the nation - that she is a good Mom and does care, is to become the Vice President of the United States so that her family, daughter, and grandchild can be assured of a strong and safe America.

I appreciate the fact that you posted this, but your summary is off. She's publicly and emphatically disputing in detail some Democratic opponent-turned-blogger's unsubstantiated charges of unethical behavior. In doing so she's waiving her right to a confidential investigation (for the obvious reason that all of the liberal braggers and their mass media puppets have repeatedly publicized the unsubstantiated charges without providing all the relevant facts about the creepy, violent ex-husband state trooper).

She's asking for the investigation to proceed and laying out a solid defense of no illegal or unethical behavior.

Under the circumstances, she's exercised one hell of a lot more restraint than I'd expect from someone who's had so many family members physically threatened by a sicko state cop who tasered his own 10 year old kid.
