For the past six weeks, I've been hacking away at it trying to get it out of the ground. Yeah, I could call a tree company and get it pulled out for a couple hundred dollars. But I'm stubborn like that. I'd rather spend the couple hundred dollars on beer, steamers and other stuff like that.
So like I said, I've spent a good part of the summer hacking away at this stump with various garden tools.
Well, ever since McCain announced Sarah Palin as a running mate, I've been attacking the stump with renewed energy. Yesterday, I had Sarah Palin on my mind as I worked on the stump and suddenly, miraculously, the stump finally came loose and I was able to pull it out of the massive hole in the ground. I triumphantly dragged the giant stump into the woods, giving full credit to Sarah Palin.
Had McCain picked Lieberman or even Mitt Romney, my previous favorite for VP, I have no doubt that that stump would still be in the ground today.
LOL, you sound like me SamAdams. When I get mad I work my butt off!!! I should get mad more often.
Love your story, pinging the garden thread.
