Is Wooten a good trooper? (Palin's Troopergate)
Achorage Daily News ^ | July 27, 2008 | LISA DEMER

The accusations are detailed in two thick binders, the result of a nearly yearlong investigation by troopers. When the investigation appeared to stall, Palin -- more than a year before she was elected governor, and about two months before launching her campaign -- pushed trooper commanders to take action against Wooten. At one point, Palin and her husband, Todd, hired a private investigator.

I saw this earlier and it's kind of funny that the MSM was claiming she was Governor but this makes it clear it was a year before she was Governor.
This clown is unbecoming of any law enforcement position.

Bottomline, the head of state police is an appointment, serves the governor as long as the governor retains trust & faith in his judgement. Any governor can hire & fire their own staff/head of departments at their own descretion; end of story.

Typical small town cop activity. Go through Alabama with all the towns that have four cops or less. Its the same story in at least fifty percent of them. I’d like to start a web site called “monkey-cop.com” and just start listing all of these guys. The problem is...once you hint you want to fire them...they leave...and get hired at another town, performing the same tricks all over again.

The cop in my old hometown...finally got his warning about twelve months ago that they were going fire him (releasing the data on his corruption efforts over ten years). The guy moved over to the next town and worked there for the past twelve months. This month...the city election came up and the ex-town cop ran for mayor. He’s in the run-off now, and numerous members of the town are highly concerned that he will win...and basically continue his corruption efforts.

The nation has a serious problem brewing here....in every small community, and something will eventually have to be done.

Interesting that the Democrats end up supporting the trooper's threat to commit savage acts of terrorism against the inlaws of a member of a protected American minority group.

Bet even Alaska has an anti-night rider statute. In any case, so do the federales. They could put this sucker away for a very long time!

I'll repeat what I've written on other threads:

Palin offered Monegan (the former DPS commissioner) another job, at the same pay. He turned it down, then started making these accusations. Palin remained silent about her rationale for doing removing Monegan from the DPS position.

She has since explained why: Among other things, Monegan was going behind her back and lobbying for more funding from the legislature, at the same time she was trying to control costs. Monegan hadn't even filled all the state trooper positions he already had finding for, and he was still pushing for more -- undermining her authority.

Democrats support the use of torture (use of taser guns) on Children. This after 5 years of constant bitching about Bush allowing waterboardering of terrorists.

Whats going on here is that Palin has started exposing the Alaskan police force for what they are, corrupt and insular. Thats what this investigation is about, the backhand network does not want to lose their meal tickets.

The trooper should have been brought up on criminal charge not just a suspension, tasering a child must surely be a charge of abuse, not to mention drinking on duty - fired, using a weapon illegally - fired.

Married 4 times at 35, yeah that guys got issues alright.

Sounds to me like Palin was concerned a nutcase like this was patrolling the streets, only a metter of time before he kills someone.

Even if the a child begged how the h*ll could you tazer them? This guy is a loose canon and out of control!!! Palin and her folks did Alaska a favor by slowing him down. He should have been fired. Threatening to kill is an assault.

This looks like an excellent article from an unbiased source that we should use to show people why this controversy is a non issue. Everyone reading this article is going to understand why trooper Wooten had to go.

WHat DOES it say about a woman that would marry a 3 time loser?

Men outnumber women in Alaska - she should have had her pick, but I have yet to see a photo of said sister.

FWIW, all the accustions came out some 2 + years after they happened - as part of the diviorce process.

Also - about the illegal moose? Sara’s daddy cut it up in his garage and the entire family helped to eat the meat....including Sara.

Not picking, she may not have known the status of the moose.....

Please let the Wooten thing go, it is a matter for ALaska law to sort out.
