I have a lot of friends who are moderate Republicans and they as a rule, don’t like the Palin nomination. They were hoping for Romney . . .And now the base is upset by the pregnancy news.
The base isn’t upset about the pregnancy
Wow the people from my church see it the exact opposite
No it's not. This is a private matter and it's being handled perfectly as far as I'm concerned. I'm MUCH more interested in how Palin took on Murkowski and won and how she cleaned up the GOP in Alaska.
Yes that news was unsettling. It took the bloom off the rose.
Even my ultra conservative 49 year old daughter, who works for our local Republican party, was upset...We're hoping that Sarah can keep up her enthusiasm...it's not easy when you know your daughter is hurting, and Bristol has to be hurting with her condition blasted all over the news...
and what about her boyfriend...he and his parents can't be too happy about all the hoopla either.
If Sarah hits a home run with her speech Wednesday night, and I sure hope she does, it will be wonderful, and in a week or two this will be old news.

I fall into that group, and am a Romney supporter. However, I was pleased with the Palin pick, and as a mother who raised three teenagers, the pregnancy news just gives me more compassion towards Governor Palin. Her family has certainly shown grace under fire! I had said all along that I would only vote for McCain if he chose Romney (and I still think the world of Romney) but with his pick of Governor Palin, and my observations since that pick, put me squarely into the McCain Palin Camp!!
