I wonder if the dems are going to mock and denounce Biden as just another Dick Cheney. /s

Picture of Fight'n Joe Biden, age 7 in the Welsh mine his family worked in so that they could afford to eat lint, and buy original letters by Edmond Burke for little Joey to read.

Archmere Academy. Hmmm, doesn’t sound too middle class to me. I thought that Obama picked Biden to reach out to the middle class, blue collar types.

This is the guy who literally did a Steve Martin-like happy dance on the Capitol steps in front of the media after the Senate voted to begin killing Christians in the Balkans. Now That is a chickenhawk!

As an old vet, I’m kind of glad that he wasn’t sent to Vietnam. I mean, look at John Kerry. He was over there a couple months before he shot himself in the ass with a grenade launcher. The Navy decided it would be best to get Kerry the hell out of there before he killed somebody. I think it would have been the same way with Biden. The military really isn’t for everybody.

Funny, teenage asthma kept Biden out of the military, but didn't stop him from playing high school football.
It must have been that special type of asthma that only acts up when there's a war.

Has this been posted before? I did a search and couldn’t find it but this thread was bumped from “breaking news.”

The Obama campaign pointed to media interviews from 1987,
when Biden was making his first bid for the presidency, that mention his asthma.Well, duh. His "asthma" wasn't relevant until he ran for the presidency. He knew that someone was going to bring up the fact that he got five Vietnam deferments and his "asthma" wasn't even an issue until he graduated from law school. No more school, no more deferments. Oops! Time to bring up the "asthma"!

“In “Promises to Keep,” a memoir that was published last year and became an instant best-seller after he was tapped as Obama’s running mate, Biden never mentions his asthma, recounting an active childhood, work as a lifeguard and football exploits in high school.”
Probably just one of those cases where Joe “tends to exaggerate.”

I think it’s been posted a couple times.

Oh and regarding the article itself, this quote is a doozy:
Biden has had extensive experience with national security issues in the Senate. McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, has been Alaska governor for two years and before that was a small-town mayor.
Biden's five student deferments equal the number given to Vice President Dick Cheney, who has been quoted as saying he had "other priorities" than military service in the 1960s.
So, is the AP in the tank for Osama or what?

Biden's five student deferments equal the number given to Vice President Dick Cheney, Five deferments! Five deferments! Five deferments! Five deferments!
The phrase was Cheney's middle name, but somehow the media hasn't managed to mention this yet. This is the first I've heard of it.

My brother really wanted to serve but was denied due to his terrible Asthma. He was told he would be a danger to his fellow servicemen if he started having an attack during missions. He didn't look at all sick. Was a 6'4’’ ball player who had to be on meds. I was his younger sister who gave him his allergy shots so he could at least play ball, especially in the spring/summer when pollen was heavy. Funny, our family dog didn't bother him, but if a cat walked into the room he was immediately affected.
I can't blame Biden if he could not serve due to Asthma. Nor do I blame others who did not happen to serve.
