A view from across the pond.

There is nothing to prove. Just the process of getting familiar and confirmation.

Prove herself to whom? Some foriegn newspaper?
To: BunnySlippers
Sadly for this paper, she’ll probably get an additional 4 years to “prove herself”.

She has just as much experience as Obama and Edwards, yet the press never criticizes them.
She has more governing experience than Kerry, Gore, Biden. Only Hillary has more experience (and that is due to a longer term in the Senate) .. and she has no governing experience.
At least Bill Clinton, the sleazy champion of the Democratic Party, at least have 2 terms as Governor.
I hate to say it, this is gross sexism. APPLY THE SAME STANDARDS!!!!!!

"European visitors to the United States are mostly exposed to the East Coast culture"
That's too bad...that's where all the liberals live.
Personally, having spent almost three years in Europe, and welcomed many European friends to the the U.S. for a visit, most of them are so excited to be in America, they are not worried about our culture.
No one ever answers the question, IF America is soooo bad to the Europeans, then why thousands of them clammor to get a visa to come here? Why do thousands of European woman jump to marry U.S. Servicemen...a ticket to the states, maybe?
Foreigners on all fronts and borders are clammoring to come to America...there MUST be a reason. If we were all that cruel, prejudiced, and non-caring, it would not be a place where people give up their way of life to come to, now would it?
It's probably caught up now, but when I was in Europe in the '60's they were notibly and culturally behind our country about 20 years.
But now we have a culture here in the U.S. that things we should give up all the things we've worked and fought for the past 500 years, and revert to the socialist ways of Europe. Where is that thinking coming from?
I enjoyed visiting Europe, saw a lot of interesting things and met some great people...even married one of them...but, the happiest day of my life is when I landed back in the good ol' U.S.A. (even if it was New Jersey).

European visitors to the United States are mostly exposed to the East Coast culture; many Americans live wholly inside that culture. It is a culture of modernism, in no way to be despised, but it is not the only culture in America. The view of the world from Harvard Yard is very different from the view from those states that Europeans seldom visit, and do not really understand. This is a good admission on the author's part.

And Lord knows, Sarah Palin got tested right out of the gate.
It is as if a death race of some kind was under way, where there is no solace in second place, and even the winner may come out bearing serious scars.
Smash-mouth, calumnious, scandal-mongering, and downright mean accusations and misrepresentations are the coin of the campaign, and the original objective of the election, to choose a determined and patriotic leader of our nation, giving that person the support and means to carry out the task.

Note: The slogan was originally posted to FR by Renfield. Islander7 created the graphic. I've merely taken the initiative in publicizing it. It's so good, it may well be the "Sore/Loserman" of the 2008 election. If you want change in Washington D.C.
I mean you really want change.
Do you vote for the Fighter Pilot and the mother of 5?
Or do you vote for the two Lawyers?

In this picture, McCain seems to be wondering if he’s doomed himself to a single term by choosing Sarah!

Interesting.
Obama still hasn’t prooved himself after several uneventful years in the Senate and the Illinois legislature. Palin proved herself after MANY years in responsible executive positions - that’s EXECUTIVE like in Presidential.
ALSO, if I’m not misinformed, the Brits have been ruled by an expensive parasitic family for decades which NEVER proved themselves in any way whatsoever.
And we don’t need advice from a bunch of Euroweenies who haven’t got the guts to stand up to an army of invading Islamic parastites and terrorists who demand and receive concession to their very un-British and un-Western death cult.
