Correct: Obama can act indignant about the Palin grandbaby because the liberal media will report it incessantly anyway

Incorrect: To think that the Palin illegitimate grandbaby wont upset the people in the American heartland...you are Stuck on Liberal. “Well, at least she didnt abort it” is not an excuse for your teenage daughter to go preggers

Fox has already made an issue of it. They’ve plasted it all over their website and they’ve talked about it several times already today. Every time they come on to say they aren’t going to say anything about it they just announced it again.

At a press availability in Monroe, Mich., Barack Obama said: “Back off these kinds of stories.”

“I have said before and I will repeat again: People’s families are off limits,” Obama said. “And people’s children are especially off-limits. This shouldn’t be part of politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as a governor and/or her potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. You know my mother had me when she was 18, and how a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn’t be a topic of our politics.”

"If anyone on my campaign is spreading this issue, they will be fired.”

Hah??? Just how do you go about firing the Mainstream Media?

Oh, right, right, right. I forgot. The MSM is not "officially" a part of the JoeBama campaign.

“What I’m frustrated is Fox News doesn’t say that it was internet rumours by liberal bloggers saying Trig is really Bristol’s child.”

That will only be spread by hateful democrats. It is EASILY debunked. Anyone spreading it will only be made a fool.

He learned from the Chicago boys. Al Capone on St. Valentine Day killings. Make sure your ass is covered. But they still got Al anyway.

Someone needs to remind him of the phrase that appears at the end of a good number of questions on various security clearance questionnaires:

"USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS TO CONTINUE"

Having just finished watching the excellent “John Adams” series, I am reminded of the situation with Thomas Jefferson. He hired a muck-raker to print all kinds of slander against his enemies, including Adams, Washington, and Hamilton. This surrogate did all the dirty work, while Jefferson sat back and looked “presidential.” Came out years later, when the “journalist” busted Jefferson concerning Sally Hemmings. Once a democrat always a democrat, I guess.

I think he is smart enough to know that going after Palin's daughter is not going to endear him or his ticket to Soccer Moms.

The soccer Mom vote is the most important vote in any election. Sarah Palin is a typical "soccer" mom, who has to deal with stuff like teenage pregnancy and down's syndrome babies and sons who are going off to war. She does it with dignity and those who are attacking her are attacking the very people who ultimately have decided our presidency ever since women were given the right to vote.

Obama has got to be in a state of panic right now. I'm sure we'll soon be hearing about one of her other children being suspended for chewing gum in class.

“This shouldn’t be part of our politics,” he continued, “It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as governor, or her potential performance as a vice president.

“There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us. I hope I am as clear as can be - so in case I’m not, let me repeat: We don’t go after people’s families, we don’t get them involved in the politics. It’s not appropriate and it’s not relevant.”

“Our people were not involved in any way in this and they will not be. And if I ever thought that it was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that, they’d be fired.”

Even Obama sees the trap here. It will be interesting to see if the rest of the rabid MSNBC/Nutroots can stay out of it. I wouldn't bet on it.

But maybe they'll figure out that the more that they try to make an issue out of Palin and her family's personal life, the more that they'll alienate regular folks who see in the Palins a reflection of their own families.

BO just stepped in it.

His threat to fire anyone on his campaign doing it was just a ploy to make it look like he wasn’t behind it. But now, if anything comes out about someone on his payroll being involved, he’s got to make good on his promise.

It reminds me of Gary Hartpence challenging the press to report any monkey business about him if they had any. He was arrogant enough to think he wasn’t going to get caught, and BO has possibly made the same mistake.

Now anyone anywhere has incentive to connect the dots of any of these rumors back to BO’s gang, and that could become the story.

I’d give it a 75% chance it was people in his campaign who fed the Trig issue to the Daily Kos and Andrew Sullivan.

Obama is backing down now that he has been checkmated on the issue by McCain-Palin.

‘”Translation: “My mom was single when she got pregnant with me. Just like the lack of experience issue, lets not go there!”’

That very well be the best, most accurate posting I’ve seen on FR in a month!

Yeah, except she’s NOT typical, nor is she a soccer mom. Incidentally, I don’t know WHAT the big attraction is to soccer. I hate it. I love hockey though.
