Bristol Palin's Baby Shower Planning (Vanity)
vanity | 9/1/08 | Pops88

Posted on 09/01/2008 10:45:40 AM PDT by pops88

I think we need to organize a Free Republic baby shower for Bristol Palin. I can barely organize a child's birthday party, so I'm hoping other Freepers will step up to the plate. I think to start, we need- date, time, place, and theme. I know there are Freepers here that can organize this so we can show our support.

Send gift cards!

Anyone know how to do the investigation on whether or not Bristol and her fiance are planning on purchasing a home? Would it be a good idea to set up something to help them with a down payment?

Why don’t we send Bristol an online congratulations card with best wishes from all the FREEPERS on her upcoming marriage and the birth of her first child? We could all sign it and add our personal greetings. Of course there will be Obama fanatics who will write disgraceful comments on the card, so someone should definitely monitor the process. This is simple, sincere and should work well.

Agreed, it’s none of our business.

Oh, let those losers yap away. Besides, safe sex doesn’t mean 100 percent birth control. I’m sure plenty of Freepers could relate stories of someone they know that used “safe sex” measures and had a nice little package come 9 months afterward.

Most of us know that children don’t always follow our admonitions (wouldn’t THAT make life easy?) There is no hypocrisy in preaching family values here. At least they plan to let the baby live and support their daughter.

“my wife is 19 and pregnant. Is it a bad thing ?”

Shhh! Don’t let DailyKos find out!

A tragedy would have been if the girl had aborted the baby. I think her pregnancy, even if unplanned, should be treated as you would any other pregnancy. Celebrate the new baby, they’re all precious, even if it’s a 17 year old who is having the baby.

Although it’s a natural to want to be supportive etc., I would vote to leave her alone.

She has not chosen a public life, and we should respect her privacy.

Just let her live a normal life.

Being a mother will kind of kill whatever normal life a seventeen-year-old might expect to have.

Wow. I never expected to get so flamed for throwing out a suggestion of doing something to show support. I guess I’ll take the advice of shutting up and doing nothing and let the libs rip her to shreds and condemn her without a word of dissent.

Just sent an email to Rush Limbaugh:

The left has been particularly vicious with the Palin family the last few days.

Why don't you immediately propose to the nation "Bristol's Baby Shower," as an antidote?

"Dan's Bake Sale" had 80,000 people in attendance and made Jay Leno's show (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rush_Limbaugh_Show#Dan.27s_Bake_Sale).

"Bristol's Baby Shower" would be a great event to provide probably millions to charity, say to Special Olympics. What do you think?

Baloney. It will be a different normal than what most would have for a teen daughter, but it will still be a quite normal life. Being the daughter of the first female Vice President, now that will be a challenge.

I support your sincerity, don’t let a few comments stop you from acting like the good natured person you obviously are.

Not trying to flame you. Your intent was great. But Bristol is a private individual. Just contribute to the McCain campaign. That’ll send the message.

Every time an attack comes like this, contribute a little more.

I think the idea is good, but I also share the idea with those against it that it might bring unnecessary attention to a young girl who would like to be left to her privacy. It might be better just to let people send gift cards and support privately, rather than make a big public “Bristol’s Baby Shower,” on the internet or otherwise.

I also think it should be wise to focus on the Wedding, rather than the baby. Conceiving a child out of wedlock is not something to support, but marriage was created by God.

Dumb@$$#$!! Leave the girl alone! It is none (ZERO) of your business.

At least the Obamanuts dare not throw the first stone:

The Story of Barack Obama's Mother (pregnant & unwed)...
