Ever watch "The Deadliest Catch" or "Ice Road Truckers" There are plenty of good jobs in Alaska for those willing to learn and break a sweat. I'm sure her father has plenty of contacts in the oil fields to get his soon-to-be son-in-law a starter job.

There is little use for them in a place like Alaska, and the is little use for them in the lower 48 IMHO.
